I The only one that has impressed is Sunak

Sunak doing very well out of this but also the only person who has had anything 'positive' to say. If he is the one people are going to listen to then put him in the presser to tell people to stay the **** inside this weekend.

Sadly, I think the Press conferences have simply shown up, (maybe with the odd exception) how inexperienced and out of their depth the current cabinet is. I understand that they are under immense pressure, but seem to be completely floundering. Unfortunately most of the experience and proven politicians who were available from the Conservative party have been sidelined, back benched or kicked out the party over the last few months. The most experienced cabinet member we now have is Liz Truss.

It's why Dr Jenny Harries looks so good. An experienced professional in amongst that lot, she unsurprisingly gives the appearance of being in charge of the daily press conferences.

I hope I'm wrong, but we will know in a few months.

I'm just getting ever more pissed off with the actual journalists and their increasingly stupid and repetitive questions, it almost like they see the opportunity to score points against the government and get some fame whilst on TV for 30 seconds.

This.

It is of course the job of journalists to ask difficult questions, but very often it sounds like a) they didn't listen to what was said moments before their question (or they did, but they don't want that to ruin their oppotunity to stir up controversy), and b) a "successfully" asked question is one with which you can create a great headline with the answer, and even better invoke outrage from the public.

I'm sometimes disgusted at these journalists, their (often deliberately) ignorant questions and the tone of their voices, like they would manage the situation better if they were in charge.

Does my head in.

Multiple sources on Twitter are suggesting Liz Truss is going to be chairing today's press briefing. I struggle to believe this to be true even though she is quite qualified - her ability to spout meaningless drivel and half truths makes her perfect for filling the PM's shoes.

WTF is this Britain's got Talent ?

Whoever is deputising for Johnson should be chairing this every day and bringing continuity to the questions and answers. The other two podiums are there for people who may be needed in specialist areas. This is really simple basic stuff

Comes with the caveat; I read it on Twitter. From several sources. I find it hard to believe but in these crazy times, nothing would shock. If true, they really are trolling us.

Rabb seems to be absent but assume this is by design? it would be better to have a consistent face or two tops.

Every Press Conference should have either the Chief or Deputy Chief Medical Officer as these two seem to know what they are talking about and also explain very clearly their answers.

Yesterday was pretty boring by Powerpoint, against my previous judgement on Michael Gove he was actually very good at chairing it.

Why is it only ever "political" journalists asking the questions? No offence to the likes of Robert Peston and Beth Rigby but what is the value of them asking questions of the chief medical officer? Where are the health and science correspondents?

Whn I hear Robert Peston being invited to ask a question I lose the will to live.

With any luck, the gammon-press will be hammering Premier League Footballers tomorrow instead of helping the government’s approval ratings collapse.

"You know who's really to blame for that coronavirus? Raheem Sterling."
