He was patchy throughout his career, was great and then shit, then great again, every time he changed clubs.

Yep. I found it odd when he and Locadia always got lumped in together as to my eye he had TONNES more natural talent than JL - he was however very lightweight, slow, and maybe a little too fragile for the demands of the Premier League.

I wasn't surprised to see him continue to do well once he left.

Never understood why he got dropped after scoring against Chelsea and Stoke(?) when scoring was very difficult for us....

This incredible image made me look up what I suspected, and the Premier League is currently Alan-less, despite having had over 40 players named Alan since it began.

The closest at the moment is that there's an Alan in HaALANd. I think he should grow a mullet in tribute to those that have gone before.
