I was thinking about that Reading Friday night game the other day randomly. Kitson scored a goal he scored a goal he scored a goal he scored a….
"He's coming on, he's coming on, he's coming...Kitson's coming on!" Then the goal. A story to be passed down through the generations.

Denis Bergkamp and Virgil Van Dyke came from the Netherlands too. although not us us unfortunately, (although the latter nearly did).

My point is that the Netherlands produces some fantastic talent, may of them succeeding in the Premier League. Why is it we only seem to get the dross?
Jan Paul van Hecke isn't doing too badly

Yep. I found it odd when he and Locadia always got lumped in together as to my eye he had TONNES more natural talent than JL - he was however very lightweight, slow, and maybe a little too fragile for the demands of the Premier League.

I wasn't surprised to see him continue to do well once he left.
Was gutted when he left as it made the Englishman in New York chant redundant before it had even had a chance ffs

He's an Iranian
Ali's an Iranian
He's an Iranian near Whitehawk

He managed to blast a shot into my 6-year old face (bleeding nose, tears, the lot) when I was a nipper stood on a milk crate down the front of the ol' North Stand.

I wasn't standing particularly close to the goal.

But they both had great hair - doesn't that count?
I'm not sure that would have been your assessment if you'd been a Pompey, Derby County or Cambridge Utd fan.

At least his hair styling sense had improved when he played for us if not his goal scoring abilities.

It depends where your priorities lie. Do you want a striker with great hair but is found wanting in front of goal, or do you want a striker with a shit haircut but who is a consistent goal scorer? I know its a difficult choice.

Looking at his stats and his various hairstyles it appears Pompey, Derby and Cambridge got the latter and we got the former.

Alan Biley. A real 'name' player in his day. Rubbish here.
Amazing curling effort from 25 yards against Carlisle as we romped to a 6-1 win at the goldstone. Nice sunny day too, so wasn’t all bad.! :)

Will always remember him getting booked for something and in the deathly silence of the West stand some frustrated voice shouting “Oh come on ref! You can’t book him for being crap!”

Comedy genius, will remember that forever.
