Like they say Dad's Army is a classic, hope this doesn't ruin it
"Don't tell them your name Pike!".
Oft misquoted. The quote is actually "Don't tell him, Pike!".
Silly Boy! er I mean Stupid BoyOft misquoted. The quote is actually "Don't tell him, Pike!".
its all down to the writing really, if they hit the right note with that cast, it might work. they have to avoid playing the original actors playing the roles, if you see what i mean.
Expect it to a turkey like the Steve Martin Sgt. Bilko film.
Classics are best left alone.
I'm looking forward to it.
Are there any examples of good and bad remakes with a whole new cast?
To be honest I don't really like films to be honest, but the new Star Trek felt like watching Star Trek.
Big act to follow but you just never know it may all work out really well and be funny.
Why film it Yorkshire? there must be somewhere down south Kent or East Sussex which would be better? Warmington-on-Sea is supposedly near Eastbourne.
The '70's feature film was done in Kent wasn't it?

The original series was actually filmed in Norfolk
You'll have to excuse me. It's my age. My mind is not what it once was. I blame the ecstasy.
Thetford I think ... although Warmington was supposed to be in Sussex

Some decent actors in this, Daniel Mays will make a very good Walker and I couldn't think of anyone better to play Pike than Blake Harrison.
