that's settled the nerves a little!!

felt a bit nervous that i was the only southerner on the freshers facebook site!! most people on there i noticed are from the west midlands themselves/bristol/anglia areas etc...

There is a freshers' facebook site???

I'm going to have to look for that (part of my job is to organise freshers - and I didn't know there was 'out on facebook)

some advice please...my son has his welcome pack from Winchester uni which says enrolment is 19th September. From that date does he stay in Winchester, or is that literally enrolment and then he starts a week or so later? Trying to sort out his part time job...hoping to transfer to Sainsburys in Winchester but doesn't know when from. Thanks in advance for any help

the way it works in CHELTENHAM is that you are there permanently from enrollment - probabaly best to check though

Enrolment is usually on the 1st or 2nd day of Freshers Week, so he'll probably want to be around for the whole of that time.

DC,

In my experience, Freshers' is when most people drift back from wherever
they are to 'prepare' for the next year. A lot of the second and third years are
around at this time - and it is a good time to get familiarised with the campus..

Of course all depends on availability of Hall of Res. if that is what you are offered
and/or whether you want to get involved with Fresher's...can be good way of meeting people......and or whether you have your accommo sorted out...

Hope that helps.

Which campus? I was Uxbridge but spent my first year at runnymede.:clap2:

God help anyone who has to spend any time in or near Uxbridge itself, I remember it being a dull, godforsaken dump when I lived there (may have improved since, of course).

Congrats to all those who got their results today and are going off to their respective unis, good luck to you all for the future.

However good or bad an education you get at Winchester University, you walk away with the kudos of being able to say "I was educated at Winchester". That will open doors for the rest of your life.
