De Gendt was the only man today who did what he had to do, to win/podium.
So well done for that.

I'm surprised Uran didn't or couldn't do more, I think he'd fancy himself in the TT, against many around him, in GC.

J-Rod leaves with the red jersey, by 1 point .
I bet Cav hasn't been great company for the last 24hrs.

Basso sniffing out a podium is certainly surprising me.

I mentioned this first thing but do you guys think the constantly riding 'on the rivet' to a similar level, is a sign of a clean peloton?

I think we can safely say a rider like RH, would have struggled to win most if not all Grand Tours before now.

I even toyed with the idea of taking the points hit, and knocking out Golas and Failli.

I am a little gutted Failli did nothing over the last few days, as I had Brandle in early for the TT.

Ok, it's been such a brilliant Giro, both the real thing and our fantasy league, that I'm going to lay my cards on the table here so we can make it go to the wire tomorrow possibly.

Just done my transfers and they're a balance of going for stage points and holding onto jersey/GC points. Money was tight so had to adjust accordingly.

J Rod, Pinotti, De Gendt, RH. Rabottini, Pozzovivo, Larsson, Phinney, Barta.

Good luck all and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

I've gone for some different options for tomorrow, still believe I can catch up if it all goes my way. My team:

De Gendt; Ryder; Kreuziger; Basso; Rasmussen; Tschopp; Dyachenko; Cataldo; Bandiera

Best I could do with 3 transfers.
You ain't overhauling 250 points with that outfit.

Looking at the stage 21 thread on road.cc, some people have some serious TT teams ! They must have saved 6 transfers for it.

4 transfers for me and finances meant my only real decision was which two from Phinney, Larsson & Rasmussen. I ended up not going for the latter, although I expect he'll top 3 easily enough.

So now our teams are out who's up for predictions ?

TT:

Larsson
Phinney
Rasmussen
Pinotti
Tuft

GC Podium:

Hesjedal
Rodriguez
De Gendt

I'm assuming J rod's time trialing has improved enough and because there's a podium at stake he'll just about hold off De Gendt & Scarponi. If not it's probably even 4th for him, which I think would be a great shame. He deserves a podium spot I think.

TT:-
G
Phinney
Alex Ras
(yes I'm pretty confident in Team Stat)

GC:-
NSC's finest
Basso
De Gendt
Uran.

Scarponi and J-Rod missing out.
I've done a top 4 as I expect Uran to be the joker in the pack.
He's the one riderI think who's able to put himself in a 'surprise' podium place.

Well that's Phinney out of the equation already :(

Edit: Sergeant leading so far. Sam will be happy. Game on.

Edit again: I think I just heard that Phinney was held up by cars. If true, poor bloke has no luck
