Firstly, how refreshing to see the tours so evenly matched. TdF last year and the Giro this plus the Paris Nice and Romandie have been spectacular to watch. Seconds!

Secondly, I missed the Giro punts. Twas on holiday, innit. Was honestly going to go for Rodriguez but knew far too little despite his age....

Thirdly, along with many others, Wiggo gets my vote for the TdF this year. Stage by stage is going to take some work!

Fourthly, first sportive today. Around the Sussex Downs from Dial Post to Goodwood to Littlehampton and back another route. What a way to break the duck! Stunning!

Finally, do I need a Garmin Edge to allow me the freedom to explore like that? Advice please. I have a 310XT which is the triathlon one.

Cheers all!
Firstly  the UCI would point to that being the end product of cleaner racing, god I hope so.
If NSC's finest wins it'll be first Grand Tour winner I've 100% believed in, possibly ever. (Except for the one obvious one I've forgotten @ 5:20am)
It's true Pantani (the other one) would have massacred this field, back in the day.

The first rule of Wiggo and Le Tour is don't talk about Le Tour!
There's about 100kms of TTing this year, hopefully we'll be robbed of the sight of a good ish TTer clawing back minutes over 31kms, becasue Ryder will already have done the job.
But image what a specialist can do over 3 times the distance.

Sportive on a Friday?

I posted my Garmin reading for a spin I had in lesser Sussex, and we had a small chat around then.
That was post 1267 on page 64, have we nothing better to do.
Have a look at the info it provides and ask away.

It was only 2 days ago I started to looking at the gaps between the riders and it became interesting for me. Wish I found the Giro earlier.

Today is going to be a brilliant stage, and sets it up brilliantly for tomorrows time trial.

They've started already. Apparently a bus has formed this early in to the first climb and a break of 13 are away. Kreuziger is in there again, no details on any others.

Johann Tshopp could be key today in our league. I note he won stage 20 two years ago and is ideally placed in GC to be able to do some damage today. Transfers and money just won't allow me to have him...you may have the edge there Pantani.

I've got Tschopp. Rabottini, in the break, but all eyes on NSC's finest for the day.

I'm a bit puzzled as to why Stef Clement seems to be in every little break these days. I thought he'd save his legs a bit for the TT.

Hopefully the tv coverage will start before the Mortirolo.

Sam has Rabottini and Caruso in the break. so he will gain some extra points there. Getting really close now.

Hunter, Rollin, Guardini and I think Vicioso have been disqualified from the race I see. Good job they don't take away any points they scored on our fantasy cycling

It has started already. Been on for 45 minutes now.
I've been looking at the start time on the stream, from sport-livez, I guess that's in CET.
It's only taken 3 weeks, and even then I didn't notice myself.

Zaugg and Carrara look strong, especially the former.

Looking at Zaugg, just after Tiralongo's stumbily wumbily, reminds me of 2 words.

Cobb Lane.

Nice one Eurosport, show an interview with the Katusha DS saying J Rod needs to attack on the Mortirolo rather than the actual attack itself.

De Gendt with a pointless attack. Unless he can reach Zaugg really quickly that is futile.

Exactly, Eurosport's coverage hasn't impressed me at all, especially compared to Phil & Paul on ITV . Sean Kelly I like but the main commentator is bloody useless.

Scarponi now coming over to De Ghent and they go for a break.

Having said all that, at least Eurosport cover all the races, so it's a lifeline in many ways.

Edit: Cunego not Scarponi. That'll teach me to rely on the so called commentator whilst I type on here

Your lucky you were not watching Eurosport towards the end of David Duffield's career, he made Harmon look Benaud-esque.

From a couple of weeks ago, and I know I said it then but:-

'Anything interesting in L'equipe, there Sean'.
'No not really'.

says it all really.

I don't think they are too painful, but when they are by christ they really do get on my tits, like now.
'did you really think J-Rod would be in the mix?'

Well I bloody well did that's why he's one of the sodding favourites.
