Fair dos. Halfords may not be a cool place to buy from, but if they contribute to more people taking it up, they deserve credit for that.

I'm gonna stop talking about my rides on here as it must be time to tear up the L plates: L2B done, Beacon beaten and now a 47.5 miler in 3h 36m which I think would equate to sub 4h on the L2B without the blockages. Thanks for all the support chaps.

Yeah, I missed that.

New project needed then.

1 week later and still none the wiser.
None of us are wise, you're just not the novice on a rickety boneshaker with stabilisers, anymore.

Although I for one still want to know what you're up too.

The 'wiser' reference was related to the disciplinary stuff but I get your drift.

I didn't really like the extra loop today as it took me closer to Maidstone using 2 A roads. I guess if I get there more quickly, those roads will be quieter. I delayed my set off time because I heard rain in the night too.

I plan to put more detail on Strava but am happy to mention 'milestones' and stuff here despite it really being a fantasy thread. As to stuff, gonna give old skool toe clips a go at some point before too long.

NSC CAPS

With this being a NOT FOR PROFIT venture, I, well my credit card, could carry the burden but obviously that ain't happening if the 25 aren't sold:-

£7 x 25 = £175.00 + £20 = £195.00 + 20% = £234 / 25 = £9.36 each
Plus on top of that, you'll need to pay your postage, from me to you. I've used all my free stamps this year.

Which leads onto the caps themselves.
Design by committee never works. Here's the template we've kind of been working to, if my memory serves:-

Colour - Brighton Blue.
.......... 4 white stripes from front to back across the centre panel.

White lettering - RIDE or FALL

....................... smaller 'hand written' back northstandchat then below cycling geeks, preferably something more Italic, but you get the point.

....... Brim side - Albion logo

Just 3 left to sell.

Sorry chaps, these last 3 are proving troublesome to shift.
Fingers crossed a bit of tour action will help, or failing that the charity ride.

So Cav is British Road Racing Champion. Unstoppable.

Who was it that said he had no chance, that Sky wouldn't let him win? 1066? Stat? Teaboy?

It'll be great to see him in his National Champion jersey.

Not me.

I thought it, but never got round to posting it.

Judging by the reporting I was getting on twitter, Sky didn't really have their A team out in force.
Apparently it was a cracking race and well worth watching on ITV4, tomorrow.

I don't think I said that either, but it's certainly been the case in the past. Great to see the National Champs jersey in the Tour again.

A good win for Lizzie Armitstead in the women's race too!

Not me that's for sure.

You probably read it on the BBC and I can confirm that they seem to know very little, except of course how to make stories out of nothing. There you go, I've said it, and for this evening at least, I'm sticking by it.

NSC CAPS ARE IN PRODUCTION

Absolutely bricking it now, I've signed off on the caps.
I hope they are half as good as the proofs.

Judging by their timescale they will be with us in August.

For those that have paid already, I thank you.
I will be cashing cheques over the next couple of days.

Anyone who has now decided they're not sure and want to back out, can you let me know ASAP, so I can tout the the caps.

As usual I'll PM this,
Other than a pm to say I've received your money, (please let me know your NSC name) the next update about the caps, will be it landing through your letterbox.

I should be working but the GUS saga brings me onto the board, so I have not read back, but if you have produced what i imagine are Stand or Fall cycling caps, I will buy a surplus one if needed. I could wear it in a couple of weeks time at the TDF TT, PM me if you want me to buy one.

Haha is it just me or is that an odd statement.
It doesn't half look like you just bragging that you're off to la Tour.

Of the 25 exclusive bespoke Ride or Fall caps that are currently in production, (Pessimist Stat is pretty scared by that), only 3 remain unclaimed.
Like Tony Bloom I have funded the whole, not for profit, venture  so obviously I'm keen to sell the last 3 to break even, minus the 2 I'm buying.

They won't be available until August.

They cost £9.36 + PP, I will PM you all the payment details, just let me know.

Did I make the list in the end? I know I tried playing hard to get but I thought I said yes eventually.

I've just checked and no you didn't say 'put me down for 1 cap'.
You faffed around of a bit you intimated wanting a cap, but you never asked for one.

You never asked and you never added your name to the order form/mailing list.

PM now sent.
