I'm obviously pretty gutted Henao couldn't make anything stick, he must have seriously died in the last 2 kms.

Good work Pogue.

2, 3, 5, 11, 15 & 20th

Yep, I'll be searching for as detailed a parcours as I can get before transfers.

I still had to take one transfer hit to get to 6 strong GC but thought it would be worth it over your 4. I've been chasing my tail though for too long now and you & Pogue have managed to keep it rolling along just nicely.

Btw, what's the betting bloody Gavazzi picks up last man again today?! How does he manage that on a sprint stage yesterday? :nono:

I didn't look closely at the results yesterday, and assumed Gavazzi had done quite well, as he scored points for me. Didn't reaslise that he was last!

Well done all you big point scorers. I only got 3 in the top 10.

Big well done those of you who rode out today and also rode out there and back. Inspirational stuff.

Got my L2B number through with an 8.30 start. Must get more training in. Still knackered from this morning.

Gone against my own advice and done my transfers already!

'twas simples for you though I expect, being a couple of GC riders short. Most of us probably only need make 1 transfer at best, which has me wondering how it works on carrying transfers over during the rest day. They should give us 4 transfers tomorrow night, so if we still have one left does that mean we'll lose it or be able to use it so long as we use it tomorrow night, giving us 4 for Monday night? I'm confusing myself here, but either way the premium players have the upper hand again.

I seem to remember carrying over 4 last year in one of the races, giving me 6 for that stage.

If that's still the case then that'll be a right result. Not sure how it works now with the new transfer changes that don't weight the game in favour of the premium players at all

Pleased to see the stage is the same as original tomorrow, except finishing 4kms shorter on the Galibier. Will finish at the Pantani memorial now instead of the summit.

Good day for me yesterday a whopping 222 points with everyone scoring points except Bataglin. Finally my plan came together. Also noticed my e/w punt Santambrogio is now just a second off third, happy days.

Glad today's stage is going ahead almost intact, though that last 4 km on the Galibier is where it kicks up.

On the transfers front not sure what use saving them up is anyway for us guys, you always have to sacrifice something in terms of your team and the flat stage we all know the winner of already. Is it worth saving transfers to get one or two more of the also rans in for the chance of second or third? I'm erring on the side of trying to guess the riders in the breaks, as there are so many points available on some of these stages.

Sean Kelly "The riders are objecting to the weather forecast" :lolol:

This is really annoying, I've been at work for nearly every stage of this Giro, the one day I am able to watch it and the riders neutralise the first climb.

Also, do they not realise that pirazzi is expensive and I need him getting me kom and breakaway points!

I dropped him before yesterdays stage because I thought this would happen. He will be back in soon enough though, as he will need to do something with all these mountains to come.

Typically they call off the truce so Pirazzi can take some more points. I think he has it sewn up now, his only challengers are the GC guys who will be concentrating on that. Chalapud just does not seem able to beat Pirazzi when it matters.

Seems to be all pirazzi's from here - i think I'll dispense with him now!

I see weening is showing his hand, I considered him as a bit of a gamble for today but went a bit more conservative.

Chapeau for Chalapud for giving it a go though as he was in the tumble yesterday that saw Battaglin taken away in an ambulance with a broken collarbone. He still finished reasonably strong yesterday however so was hoping for an anger attack from him today for the KOM points.

Making points on IL & Pogue is becoming increasingly difficult as everyone seems to have basically the same riders. Pozzovivo is my weak spot but, as you say, the really steep ramp has been chopped today, although it does get steep near the finish still, so hopefully it won't favour Pozzovivo too much + if it does I'd hope Majka to be there with him as he's 11th place yesterday was only due to an untimely bike change apparently. I do have a different ace up my sleeve for today that I hope might gain me just a slight edge.

As we see the back of the peloton here...I wish Gavazzi would just pack up and go home. He toys with last place everyday, and sometimes on a semi-sprint stage too. Any lump in the road and he can't get over it, so is he perhaps hoping it'll just be him and Cav left for the pan flat last stage or something so at least he's assured of a second place ???

I was just about to say it's good to finally see Astana at the front.

I bet there's no fresher ozonetastic air than what they're getting lungfuls of, coming down next to that river.
