I'm at a loss as to what's going to happen with tomorrow's stage. Potentially we could end up with a 60km stage!, but surely that won't happen. I'm hoping any stage changes for Sunday don't screw up my fantasy long game, and worse still, kill the stage as a spectacle.

On a seperate note, short stages on this Giro have been one of the things that have helped make it so exciting I think.

Looks like it'll be 60k with the finish in the valley after the telegraph. I've got a vague recollection of this a few years ago - it was carnage with everyone going hell for leather from the gun.

I got out this morning on my full training ride after a couple of weeks getting over my gastro episode. Didn't go for it but matched my first time out, which was fine. Tried to keep it more anaerobic this time and made it up all the climbs in 1,3. A traffic jam interrupted the final climb for a bit. Feel knackered now.

Weather hampering live pictures today too. So far we're getting highlights of previous stages.

Battaglin out, suspected broken collar bone. Chalapud caught up in the same crash.

Just Chalapud for me.

This break still has a big gap. I hope these route changes haven't ballsed up a proper GC fireworks and battle for stage wins and the bonus seconds. I played it long yesterday to set myself up for an ultra strong GC team for this weekend, but that could backfire now.

It did occur to me the other day, we hadn't had any updates recently.

At least you would have lost some weight, while off the bike!!

Looks like it. This break won't get caught and tomorrow isn't so demanding without the galibier.

Bit cheesed off all round here. No live pictures, no excitement and fantasy plans up the swanny too. Bloody weather!
The standard change yesterday was Mezgec for Bouhanni but I figured everyone would do that and there's no point me just marking. I need to go on the attack, so I went for the big points this weekend instead. Not going to happen now by the looks of it.

I favoured consolidation and went for that very transfer. I think everyone will be in the same boat this weekend but I suppose that doesn't help your aim of getting back to the top!

I'm GC all the way.
So are we left with the cyclingnews live feed?

Lombardy in 2001 was like this. We saw about 30 seconds. For all we knew, the riders could have spent the day in the boozer.

Their live ticker is shite. They even managed to miss out Bentancur for 3rd. I had it running in another window but enjoyed the excitement of Rai Tv with the Italian commentary watching them emerge out of the mist 400m from the line. Bloody typical of Samu today though - he always does this to me  Big disapppointment on Majka today.

So how's everyone done? I was disappointed to lose Chalapud and Battaglin, and hoped for something from Di Luca, who didn't feature. So, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 is obviously very pleasing.

Came back together quickly.

That's nice work :clap2: I couldn't work Pozzo in and still have Pirazzi.

I suppose that was the trade off - no transfer left for kiserlovski/pozzovivo as I'd used up the transfer for Bouhanni.

Might try and see exactly what route they have for tomorrow before transfers.

Yep, I'll be searching for as detailed a parcours as I can get before transfers.

I still had to take one transfer hit to get to 6 strong GC but thought it would be worth it over your 4. I've been chasing my tail though for too long now and you & Pogue have managed to keep it rolling along just nicely.

Btw, what's the betting bloody Gavazzi picks up last man again today?! How does he manage that on a sprint stage yesterday? :nono:
