Stat Brother - some useful tips, thank you!

I've been going out with a few friends and slowly getting used to getting out of my own zone, and pointing out things ahead of someone going into them! Hadn't thought about indicating cars or clear junctions, so good advice. I've also got a good left elbow action for calling the next person through after I've done my 15 secs on the front! :lolol:

As for the time, I've already realised that I need to hit a gold time - I've not been shy in letting people know what I'm doing, and therefore the pressure is on to deliver!

First things first though, 3 points tomorrow, my biggest dilemma is whether a pint or 2 of Harvey's will compromise my Sunday morning performance? Not sure I've watched a game at the Amex yet without at least 1 pint inside my system!!

That's honourable of them.
Hello

I've been thinking about this today.
I can see it really backfiring in Holland, certainly amongst the cycling community.

They obviously pulled because of money and have been looking for a good enough reason over the last 2 years.
It's handed to them on a plate, having been up to their necks in it, for years.
Now pulling the rug out on a progressive team.

I'd be pulling my money from the asap. .

I haven't put new cables in no. Thanks for the tip, I may have to go down that route. The annoying thing is I had it to within a gnats last night, bottom and top running fine but just one small jump going up. I tried fine adjustments with the 'b screw'? but in the end I lost it all again and now it's jumping like a kangaroo and not going all the way down, which is even more puzzling. I just got totally confused and fed up and walked away.

New cables and outers, is a necessity. I'm sure this discussion has moved on now but it is worth saying. I change mine so often it is ridiculous but I just love how smooth it all is when it is new.

Wiggins implicated in Cayman Islands tax avoidance scheme. Whoops.

I have to say, he's one person who probably had no idea what was going on.

I'M still waiting for Bold's report of the day.

Well, currently I'm KOM for the Fun 45mile distance of the 84 Strava users and clocked in at 2hrs 47mins, although my official time maybe different. Rain held off although some of the roads were a state, and had a decent run up the big climb behind Butser.

Major carb loading in the Nags Head after, that was great as well!

I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I thought the roads might be troublesome around there on damp leafy bumpy roads.
How was The Meon's, for you. I do like that area to ride in.

So was it your first of many?

Definitely, already working out which one I can do next. Definitely do a longer distance next time. Thoroughly enjoyed it, very good atmosphere etc. a raft of abilities and brilliant to see families, parents and kids doing it.

I was fine through the Meons, in fact unlike a few of the hills round here, they were more of a consistent gradient making pacing yourself & getting a good rhythm much easier. Some of the descents were scary, one road just seemed to turn to gravel at the bottom, heart in the mouth time!

Any of you guys buy Cycling magazine? Working up North get given a free magazine a week, so why not?
I get cyclesport every month, and have done for years.
It's just pro cycling, which means if it weren't for Lance I'd be in the 'picture special' zone.

On the very rare occasion I've brought Cycling Plus it seems a pretty good all rounder.

Thanks! Official Wiggle timing confirms a 'gold' time of 2:46, so very pleased for my first sportive.
Well Done mate, fairly new to road racing so not done any timings, closest i've come to that distance is the downslink (Guildford - Shoreham) off-road at just under 4hours, with a mountain bike though.
