The Appeal has raised around £250,000 and Albion will earn a similar amount from next month's FA Cup tie at Tottenham but, together with the fee for Currie, it still leaves a gaping hole in the finances.
Blades' boss Neil Warnock has targeted Cullip to plug a defence that threw away a two-goal lead in last Saturday's 2-2 draw at rock-bottom Rotherham, which was still enough to lift United into a play-off place.

The former Fulham and Oxford defender, a talismanic figure, has made 242 appearances for the club in all competitions.

The 38-year-old striker is keen to remain with the Seagulls for the rest of the season but manager Mark McGhee is reluctant to make such a commitment at this stage.
Albion's financial position is precarious and McGhee wants to adopt a wait-and-see policy with regard to Claridge.
The Seagulls have won two matches and lost three since he resumed his League career after a spell as player-manager of non-league Weymouth.
If Claridge agrees to stay he will be available for the next six Championship matches, starting with Friday's visit by Stoke but he is ineligible for the FA Cup third round tie at Tottenham on January 8 as he has already played in the competition for Weymouth.
