I caught about 20 minutes of it last night and thought it marvellous fun just trying to figure out where locations were, Southwark Square and the Green in it a lot last night, bit of Holingbury for the marijana factory, think the police station may have been the Aquarena in Worthing, the Dog track was Brighton race course and stables, West street was Preston Street. Great fun.

The Police Station is the Civic Centre near Shoreham Station. I know they also filmed something up near Carden Park, which hasn't been broadcast yet, as there was an area covered with tarpaulin and signs up saying something along the lines of Police are aware of any gunshots (would have been a perfect time to stage a real robbery/murder in the area). It's beginning to grow on me as a series but I would have bailed a long time ago if it hadn't been set locally.
I'm happy just looking out for the identifiable places. Tacky old sign on the Assembly Rooms in Worthing in last weeks episode. Mrs Igzilla, who is an officiando of cop/crime shows, is thoroughly enjoying it. I'm more towards the plot and stuff, but then again I'm not keen on Midsomer Murders (unlike the missus) and I class Cuffs as being in the same kind of vein.
It's fine for midweek pre-watershed drama. The characters are starting to get a bit of depth, and Brighton makes a great backdrop.
I'd be interested in the viewing figures. How many up north watch it and think it's a/ good and b/ real life Brighton?
How much was the setting of Cracker like Manchester / Touch of Frost like Oxfordshire / Taggart like Glasgow.
Given his age and the time it was made, David Jason would not have been tall enough to have been in the police as long as the program tells us. Sorry you'll have to unwatch them. BTW was he Oxon as well as Morse?
I seem to recall touch of frost being based in south Midlands/Oxforshire, - wouldn't put money on it though!
