He also never looks like he’s trying. I know he probably is, just comes across as lazy though
I think it's because he's trying that he gets booked. He's trying - but just not quite there yet to make those flawless tackles that Bissouma and Caicedo made (until they left - as now they seem late to most tackles).

I’ve read this a few times. Hodgson sets up very similar to how we played under Hughton in the Premier League.

As for why they’d want to watch it, that’s because it’s their team that they love. I watched us at the Goldstone and Priestfield, rock bottom of the football league and playing horrific football. Would I rather we were playing tiki-taka? Of course. But we didn’t have the ability to do that. Neither do Palace.
Except that Palace should have the ability to play better football. When we were at the Priestfield we didn't have a pot to piss in. Palace have had years and years of PL money. They also have a few good players. Why are they still playing such dull football?

Steadying the ship. If they continued trying what they were doing under Vieira they would’ve been relegated. They tried something new, it failed, so they went back to secure old Roy. When Roy goes they’ll probably try and change approach again.

Good shout. If City aren't going to play him, they should let him get some game time before the Euros. We play good football that would work for a City player, and we're no challenge for City's PL position.
Plus he'd help take some points off their rivals. Him and RDZ are friends. It should be a possibility.

Baleba has great physical attributes but he gets caught out playing as a pivot because his first touch is not good. If he improves that it will help him receiving on the half turn and making more progressive passes.
He's also very one footed and can't go on his right side making him easy to read. Maybe if RDZ could stop moaning about the 'clubs policy' and teach his players to kick the ball with their weaker foot this may help.

Newcastle was the rumour but there is that top 4 issue. Mind you, we might be a threat with Phillips too…

Baleba has potential for sure. I just think that RDZ is frustrated with him now.

I disagree that he was at fault for their goal though:

Dunk could have used his left foot to hit it down the line.
Gross didn't need to go back
Bart should have passed it to JPVH
Bart should have done a better kick out with his left foot.

All of these are bigger reasons for the goal than whatever Baleba did or didn't do. Not good man management skills at all their De Zerbi and not for the first time with regards to Carlos.

Gross exactly, his unnecessary pass back started the sequence of calamity.... he had ' acres' of room to turn

Another "derby"game that exposes the myth of the Selhurst atmosphere.

Noisy when they scored, but otherwise quieter than the Amex.

Considering they were winning against their bitterest ruvals for over half an hour, that is really embarrassing.

Caicedo left a season too soon, I think everyone agrees with that. How you prevent it from happening once the player turns into a twat is much more problematic.
I think that’s spot on, and agree with those saying this position is clearly his biggest frustration. As you say though, not sure what could have been done (and not easy to go and find a World class 25 year old replacement on our budget either)

Thank god for Welbeck, that would have been hella bleak night without him.

Steele was one of our key 4-5 players who got us 6th place last season and De Zerbi’s continued insistence in dropping him for so many games cost us 2 points tonight. We saw Bart make the carbon copy error on Sunday that put the Arsenal game beyond us yet De Zerbi still doesn’t learn that one keeper is totally ready for these high pressure games and one is still not quite there yet. That’s not on a young keeper, that’s on you RDZ

But I suppose the question is how does he 'get ready' for these high pressure games? Best way maybe to play in them and take the odd hit?

Its often harsh to blame a keeper solely as all players makes mistakes but i do think its time to get Steele in and keep him in

Is it time to stop the constant keeper rotations and just stick with one? I think so. Steele can be our number one, and Verbruggen can play in the FA Cup and against some lower-league teams as he gains valuable experience.
