Miles better than them in the second half. Not so much in the first half when I thought they were better than us.
Disagree - we were all over them bar a 5 min spell. The football itself and passing tonight was superb. Just the finishing but we struggled with!

Bit concerned by that RDZ interview. Said ‘the policy of the club’ 3 times in relation to the transfer policy to recruit young players with seemingly some frustration. Feels like he is wanting 2 or 3 ‘oven ready’ players in Jan, and that might be why he hasn’t signed a new contract yet
Tbf he probably realises that's the only way we're going to truly compete. Can't blame him and worry that he'll get itchy feet if it drags on.

Hope he isn't going all Poyet... It must be frustrating for him though, TB has to back him in Jan.
TB will back him, but if the right players aren't available (and they probably won't be) then what exactly can we do?

TBh that from RDZ annoys me. He knows what Brighton is, it’s not a surprise to him. He also knows the length of the injury list.

Bloom and Barbar aren’t men who’ll be pressured by him saying this, but also they don’t need him to air this stuff on tv to be convinced, they’ll get what he wants if they can and the players are there who fit with the club.

All this does is say to the players who were out there than he’s not happy with them.

Get the recruitment team onto Boris Johnson.

He's the man for the Oven ready deal.

Get left back done

I don't think they were better than us in the first half. They had a few good moments, and maybe you felt we should have been better, but we still played the better football in both halves, but a poor ball from Bart fell nicely for them (good cross though).

The police are making getting back to Norwood Junction even more of a ball ache than usual, and we're still stuck in this shithole FFS.

It’s the qualities he needs next to him that he misses. Someone more mobile, who can also take the ball under pressure and progress it.

I know Baleba’s statistically been very good this year, but I think most teams know that if they cut off Gilmour, it interrupts our rhythm completely.
I think that Amadou Onana would be a great fit next to him, and Everton need the money…

Notoriously difficult to bring in oven ready players in January, too.

i don't like the way RDZ made those comments. After all, its because of our policy that we have made incredible progress for a relatively small club - we wouldn't be where we are now without the policy we've had up to now. Think the comments are disrespectful to TB and Co- he should appreciate where he's at and not get too billy big bollocks, especially considering the main problem is injuries anyway

Yes, there's some petulance to RDZ sometimes when things aren't going his way. Sometimes it's wise to bite ones tongue.

He's not bigger than the club, the reason he has his platform is Mr Tony Bloom, not the other way around.

Missed the RDZ interview. Can understand his frustration as we’d be pushing for top 4 with Mac and Caicedo but how could we stop them leaving? And how would we have had the money to strengthen the squad as a whole if they’d stayed? It is what it is, as someone once said. I’m pleased he’s pushing the boundaries and hopefully TB can do enough to satisfy his ambition but we’re never going to be financially on a level with 6 or 7 other clubs unless we change the entire nature of our model. That might be desirable but almost certainly not sensible. Fingers crossed we can meet him in the middle with a couple of senior pros - not busting the budget or blocking the long term progress of some great young talent.

We want a manager who wants to win and is pissed off when we don't, so I'm not going to get too upset with him saying the odd thing that's unfair. As long as he calms down later.

I did not like that from RDZ. Saying we have to play young players and threw Baleba under the bus. We have Veltman and Pervis injured who bring experience in defence. Then we have March out for the season. Welbeck and moder not fit enough to start.

We can’t have a squad with 20 peak level footballers.

I love RDZ but that was wrong. Hopefully just a “please can we sign someone boss”

Roy saying Brighton like city and Liverpool hardest to defend against will go down well with palace fans.

I mean Bloom did stop Caicedo leaving in January. There’s only so many times he can do that though, especially when said player goes on strike and refuses to train and play.

I think that was the problem in the summer- the higher ups must have known we needed reinforcements, but it must have been the case that the right players at the right price with the right attitude weren't viable. Lessons learned from spanking cash on shit like Locadia and Jahanbakhsh I assume.
