Apart from being shite tonite and so fkin predictable. We have looked scared to death. Hate to say it but playing away at there hellhole is a lot more daunting for us coz of the intense atmosphere, playing at the amex is like a tea party for them compared to other way round.

Yes, it seems obvious to me what our game plan has been, and I'm surprised others don't seem to notice.

Potter seems to have correctly predicted their hard press against our possession, as other sides this season have done the same, and we were to absorb it. No team can hard press continually, it's just not physically possible.

And just like other fixtures we were absorbing it against a tiring opposition, which is why we were looking better as the half went on.

It's an utter shame Trossard gave away that stupid penalty, as our game plan was working and we would have started the 2nd half with a physical advantage, as intended.

I get what you are saying but some of our passing through the back was just outright negligent and we were lucky to get away with it. I wouldn't really call that a game plan. It was going from back passing like headless chickens to just hoofing the ball to Wellbeck bypassing the midfield altogether... The only player that can really take any credit in that half is Cucurella

No foul apparently.

Probably because it wasn’t a foul…

Mac Allister is the answer. Has the clever little passes that unlock defences. At the very least, he likes a last minute equaliser against Palace.

Also, can we at least fast track Sarmiento to the bench?

Lallana and Groß need some legs next to them, we’re losing the midfield. Trossard’s challenge was just stupid, we only had to hang on for another 30 seconds.

Lamptey can surely play at least half an hour if we need him, what’s the point of putting him on the bench if he can’t do that, Moder on for Lallana who is on a yellow.

Lay off Trossard, it could've been Lallana or someone else, it's happened, a stupid challenge that the Palace tw@t has made a meal of.
We have to get back in this game right from the start of the second half.
Positivity is needed, not slagging our own....

You're right. He's probably reading this at half sorry. Sorry Trossy!

If he was making a challenge for the ball it's different but that was mindless. That said, you're right we need him second half. Couldn't get the ball to him enough/at all in that first half.

Shoulder barge, might have got away with it further up the pitch, especially some the refs let go, but always high risk in the box. Shame but we can do this

Referee has had everything spot on so far, from the Welbeck calls, to the Trossard penalty, to Lallana's yellow.

Can't blame the ref for any of this.

Trossard made a stupid mistake and that's why we're losing. That simple.

But he's one of our best players. He will be raring to make up for it in the 2nd.

It's far from over chaps. Far from over.

He didn't give the Ward foul on Welbeck, which was pretty bloody obvious.

In hindsight though, yeah it is a pen- that little prick was looking for a reason to go down and Trossard gave it to him. Why Trossard is defending in our own box in the first place is beyond me.

But yes, plenty of time to turn it around. They'll start sitting back now.

Double change at half time needed.

Solly on for Veltman

Moder for Gross.

Which should have been the starting line up, but there you go.

If Lamptey can manage 20 mins at the end and we're still losing bring him on for Duffy and go 442

Palace aren't you after all, show yourself out.

The boys have done well save Trossards moment of stupidity.

That is inevitable consequence of the hard press.

Palace press hard, pushing the opposition into mistakes... which they WILL achieve. That's the point of the hard press.

But Potter's tactics was that if a player makes a mistake, which they will, there will be someone to cover, which they were.

Palace had NO clear cut chances in that half. As intended. We were tactically spot on in that half.

The only difference was a silly Trossard foul, which was unintended and unnecessary.

But what is it with us and dumb f ing penalties on that side. Veltman's one was also beyond obvious

Negligent. Great word to describe some of our passing at the back. Sanchez was pretty good though.

Just goes to show, all the cocky “we have readymade replacements for Biss”.

We don’t.

All a million miles away from his elite level of composure, power and pace, very much needed in the cut of thrust of a division dominated by athletes.
If we'd actually played any one of his potential replacements, that half might have been a lot different.

Unfortunately, we didn't.
