last time I played against St Peter's was when matty Knight still played before he "ahem" stopped playing. Couple of years ago now. I think your firsts play in the Second Divi dont they with our firsts ( who got relegated to teh 3rd divi last year)....I play for the two's in div 6

If he'd concentrated on his cricket, and got himself fitter, matt could have been a very, very good cricketer.

I've seen him score 200 twice in 40 over matches, he was a decent keeper and I've never seen anyone able to bowl so quick from a 4 pace run in my life. I was at school with him and played for Priory with him for years.

Probably Bells Yew Green's 2nd XI captain, bit of a twat.

What division you playing in this season? 8 and you'll be playing against him, 10 and you've got us.

I remember playing against Bells Yew Tree few years ago....Bob The Cat Bevan is their president and Yes their skipper is a twat.....dont get me started about BULVERHYTHE......:angry::angry::angry::angry:

we are in 6, we should have gone up, but cocked it on the last day last year going from 2nd to 4th!

Last season I played for the 3rds in div 9 so we won't have played each other. When we played your 3rds they had a really good medium pacer who got a 6 for and a 7 for (the 7 for included 4 in 4 balls!!)

If you ever play against Bulverhythe, you will hear the familiar call....

"howzatt dad"

" He's out son"

BUNCH OF CHEATING C**TS

if you ever play Hurstpierpoint, then their umpire is the most biased I've ever seen. His son was clearly out 3 times before eventually being bowled.

Dave, when was the last time you played St Peters?

about 5 years ago I think at the Convent Field.

Matthew Knight was your skipper.

St P was the first team i played against when moving to Brighton and I joined St Mary's/ Criptics 1975 ish

I played a couple of games at JUNIOR school and never since. Enjoy the occasional nets with mates but never got into playing.

Would like to start but, despite clearly being able to at the very least field better than most of the old codgers my mates play with, always worried cricket is a bit too cliquey.

We need a terrible NSC Invitation Team...
EXACTLY the same situation as me, I've always played in the nets with my mates for about the last 10 years, but didn't know anyone in a team and didn't really want to just turn up to a team where I didn't know anyone.
Dave what's the deal with this, are the club actually looking for new players and are any new faces likely to get a game in the sunday side?

Not Luton! Thank God
We used to play a side called Trafford who were a buch of asian guys from South London. They loved coming down to the coast to play us and they used to cook us an awesome curry after the game.

Yes mate.

the club are actively looking for players to join. LStM are a very friendly club and on saturday run 3 teams and one on a Sunday.

as with most teams you will find, people have left and encouraging youngsters and also people like yourself and Richie who have played before but not really known what to do to join a club is very difficult. Its all about taking the plunge.

Ring Phil the number is on the web site and come along.....even come along to nets and introduce yourself. As I said we are a very friendly bunch and certainly have a very healthy drinking culture!!!!

BTW To answer your question, we have at time, struggled to get sides out and getting in a side should not be a problem.
