I'm sure I haven't. My brain is a bit confused about it now though. I thought I may have seen Gough's hat trick in 1999 at the SCG, after a breakfast all nighter at some friends house. I then thought I may have seen Cork's against the Windies in 1995, but I was actually in France at the time- playing cricket ! For sure, it's my first this century.

Did you turn off when Broad played?

Unfortunately I saw Siddle’s hat trick live at Brisbane in 2010, even though Broad leathered the one that was given LBW for the hat trick.

Might do but my ability to stay awake is not up to much beyond 10.

While I've got you, would I be right in thinking that you haven't changed your views on Brook as a result of his two cracking innings? FWIW, I think you were wrong then and has the potential to outscore Root in his career (I doubt he will but it wouldn't surprise me) because he's such a destructive batsman. I wouldn't say the two large (some might say match-winning) innings in NZ ought to prompt a re-evaluation: it was all there already and, despite the runs, he more than rode his luck.
I suspect Brook's returns will fall away at some point in his career when his eyes and reactions slow up. Or maybe he'll adjust to it and play in a less expansive way.

Anyway, did you see him drop his bat while Henry was just about to bowl yesterday? It was a moment of glorious contrast between very human clumsiness in the middle of an almost inhuman wonder-knock. I think that was my favourite innings out of all of those I've seen live, it had everything.

Both of his were at home. And I didn't work from home then. So I would miss a lot of time in matches (that and having an other half who hated the game). I'm more likely to see one abroad.

I remember watching Gough's on highlights, but I saw one of Broads live - can't actually remember which one though  I remember the excitement more than I remember what happened.

Right everyone here, if you were going in fancy dress, what would be your outfit?

Question of the day on commentary.

I'm going as a sloth.

I love it. Henry's got a plan for Duckett and wants to keep him on strike.

Who knew the plan was to get smashed for 6?

Depends how many people I'm with.

Two of us - Blues Brothers
Three - Spanish Inquisition
Four - The Beatles (as in the Sgt Pepper cover).

This is obviously entirely theoretical. I never do fancy dress and have no intention of changing that

I was thinking after that. Probably a Dickensian character. Fagin or the Artful Dodger

Would anyone know you're in fancy dress, or would they just think you were a standard eccentric Englishman?

When Duckett meets people and they ask him what he does for a living, and he tells them he's a sportsman, none of them believe him.

Perhaps. They probably wouldn't be wrong either. I think Englishness is under-rated. I do wear a large fedora when I go out. Maybe I should go as Edward VIII.

Right here right now, I'd quite like to be in fancy dress as something covered in blubber to keep warm.

Maybe a sperm whale. Coolest of all the whales. Fact.

Oo, if you're going for keeping warm in blubber, while watching the cricket, might I suggest appearing as His Excellency Jabba Desilijic Tiure of Nal Hutta

I can't decide whether he is an Estate Agent or running a bears night at the Bulldog. Perhaps both.

It's definitely bears night. I was at some weird cowboy themed ranch night in Edmonton Canada, and he was our waiter.
