Thanks for the report, Staffs Gull. We are going to get refs who appear to make every decision just to thwart us. Equally, I would hope, we would get a ref. giving us the benefit of the doubt.

I certainly think it's not the time to become negative. It sometimes upsets me when we lose but we need to get behind the team on those occasions and show them true support. I don't actually think we have done too badly this season - ok we have only won 4 games, but we have drawn another 3. Equally though we have lost 6. We just need to keep plugging away and picking up points when we can. We are still consolidating following the arrival of new players in the team and have also suffered injuries so in due time we will play better and start to win games. Keep the faith!

The ref and linesman spoiled a good day out.I thought Crewe probably just shaded it.But we put up a good performance. The ref cost us the first goal and the linesman the 3rd.Kuipers pulled off a few brilliant saves and we missed some good chances.

But you always say that, don't you Ernest? That is your standard slag off the team phrase.

:( :( :(

This is the sort of team we should be getting some result against if we are going to survive. Already a 6 pointer, we must now collect 4 out of 6 in next 2 home games!!

If you were there like I was as I am a true fan and not some armchair plastic fan you would know we played crap and didn't deserve anything and all the Magoo for God idiots can now shut up

And this is coming from the most negative fan that any team in the world has ever had. You can call me what you want, sunshine, but I support the team totally in good times as well as bad, and I do NOT, at least I hope not, consistently PISS people off on here, with stupid trite gay posts.

You a true fan - ha! - I've never seen you say anything good about the team.

You can continue this petty argument if you like, as that is all you ever seem to want to do, but I do not intend to rise to your bait. Night, night, sweet dreams. xx

can't be bothered to read all the comments but my thoughts...

Virgo looked out of his depth as a forward - kick and chase was his only tactic

Knight tried hard but I can't remember him having a shot on target

Hinsh and Mayo couldn't handle Crewe's front 2

Chippy should have started in preference to Charlie

None of the Albion players complained about the free kick leading to the goal

Ref was absolutely rubbish - I'm sure he blew for an Albion free kick in the 2nd half and then allowed play to continue

a bad day at the office!

Agreed with the comments that the crowd were entertaining but although the abuse to the ballboy was funny it got very sick when comments about his mum and more. grew more obscene Christ we are singing to a 10 year old boy. Both my daughter 16 and son 10 felt sorry for him. Great though at halftime with us cheering the kids on.
As to the game. I remember Luton last year and it was more of the same from the ref, but the linos were bad and although he missed the ball out for the third one, the lino was also clearly twenty yards behind play when Knight went through (who was offside) but play continued but of course, Knight could not finish.
Certainly still felt proud we played great football at times. We just need to finish.

Most others have covered it - dodgy decision (one of many) for their first goal - giving them a free kick just outside the area and quite centrally placed. The shot was placed to the side Kuipers was covering, so not sure how it got in really. If he feels exposed at the other post and expects the shot to go there - he should have a man on the post.

They had a lucky bobble for the second and it fell oh-so-nicely to one of their forwards. Sure, he still had to finish, but I probably would have done from there.

The third was a long way from me, but the reaction of nearly the whole Albion team suggested that something untoward had happened - I gather the ball went out of play. No idea myself, but you don't normally see that sort of reaction if players are appealing on the off-chance.

We definitely had the better chances, although it felt as though we were lacking a degree of urgency and never quite seemed to be at our best. Despite that, I feel on another day we'd have travelled home with a point and probably all three. I'm not too down-hearted other than the fact I expect Crewe to be in the relegation shake-up with ourselves.

Of the teams below us - I only expect Rotherham and Gillingham to still be there come May - so we have to find someone else to finish above. Time for some home form.

We could/should have won with a better ref and better finishing despite not playing especially well.

I am also exceptionally pissed off with the ordeal myself, Hart's mistress and mendoza10 had to go through on the trains to try and get back to Exeter (me) and Bath (them). Train was 20 minutes late leaving Crewe because some fucktards had been vandalising the toilets. There were also a load of brownies (as in girl guides) on the train who all needed the toilet, so the driver decided to stop for twenty minutes at Hereford so they could all go as the toilets on the train were broken. All this meant we missed our connection at Newport, and the service we needed from there to Bristol Temple Meads was delayed by 35 minutes too. So by the time we got to Bristol there were no more trains to either of our destinations. Thankfully a bus was heading to Bath so those two jumped on it, whilst the train company paid for a taxi for me to Exeter - all of which means I only arrived back about an hour and a quarter later than I should have. Grrr!

Ernest, be very careful. If you have a go at Spicy, you have a go at me. And we all know that I OWN you totally. So do shut up with all your pathetic negative whining before I get really nasty.

The only way you are a real fan is if by some chance you can be plugged in and go round and round.

To be honest I felt the ref was the difference between the two teams and that 1-1 would have been a fair result. From reading the previous posts on here I am absolutely stunned to see that this was not indeed Mr Parkes first ever attempt at refereeing, as it certainly looked like it.

Sadly we lacked a cutting edge up front yesterday, and even though Virgo led the line with plenty of heart, I do feel a genuine striker is required up there. We had several great heading opportunities today especially Kerry and Charlie, and if they had fallen to Brian Deane type player probably would have been goals.

Still despite the result it wasn't a bad day out. The kids footy at half time was quality, and the ball boy abuse was both hilarious and appalling at the same time. We also followed the programmes advice and went to the Borough Arms and what a quality boozer that was.

An excellent turnout from the Albion faithful, everyone really got behind the team and I think they fully appreciated it. It's a shame to hear about the racist abuse, didn't hear anything myself, just good old fashioned clean vitriol. However if the abuser is reading this, you are piece of narrow minded scum and I hope next time you get nicked.

Did anyone else spot that the ref was Trevor Parkes, the same ref that sent off Leon at Luton last year for being fouled and gave them a penalty when one of them dived. What has that guy got against the Albion? Is it a bit like one of those 'mint' adverts where something bad happened to him involving the word Albion?
