Does it make any difference if the goalkeeper touches the ball on its way into the net?

If the keeper touches the ball before another player when the ball is in play - as it would be if it leaves the area and blows back in, an indirect free kick is awarded (direct if the keeper handles outside the box).

If the ball doesn't leave the area, the kick is retaken.

If the player handles a goal kick before it enters the goal without it leaving the area I think the retake happens because the handling infringement occurs before the ball leaves the area.

Yes my Lord, but probably not in the way you're thinking, if he took the original goal kick. Just like all dead balls, player taking the kick cannot touch the ball a second time until someone else does. If he does (and it did go out of the area) then it would be an indirect free kick to the other team from the point of the second touch (unless within the goal area, when it it would be moved out to the edge). If it didn't ever leave the area, it would be a re-take of the goal kick.

If another player took the kick and goalie touches it on way in - own goal! (Again assuming it left the pen area first.)

Whoops - sorry Acker79, didn't check page 2 before posting reply.
