Crawley & Eastbourne

Crawley's win against Gateshead of 2-1, in front of 1,412 moves our north Sussex neighbours to top of Blue Square Premier.

Eastbourne Borough magnificent 5-0 victory against Altringham in front of 1,117 was a brilliant result.

Football in Sussex is definitely on the way up.
Well done to our neighbours & I would recommend any fellow BHA fans who don't fancy an away trip to watch one of our neighbours.

You are joking, Crawley are Palace/Chelsea = scum.

When the hell do football supporters like their neighbours?

Surprised that Crawley aren't getting 2,000+ crowds after the recent investments and having the Conference's best goalie and a decent strikeforce.

Must say I thought Crawley would be better supported. They got a few 2,000 crowds the season they went up to the BSP but I believe many vowed to boycott the club when the Majeed brothers started to screw the club over. They don't seem to have come back yet.

Given all the money they've spent, either the locals need an awful lot of convincing that this isn't another false dawn, or CTFC's marketing skills are particularly crap.

I'd go with the latter.

Top of the BSP tonight too. In some respects it would be quite funny to see them beat teams like Luton and Cambridge to the top spot, then again I can't quite bring myself to think of them as a true Sussex side so I'm not sure.

We had times recently with three Sussex sides in the Conference, which was pretty strange, but to have two in the Football League...despite peoples misgivings, I reckon that would be pretty special, even if the other one is Crawley!

Hastings were unbeaten through about first 5/6 games as well. Think if they win or go up through complex multi league play-off they are in B.S. South and 'on the map' as it were like these sides

Crawley look a good bet for sure. Their problem will come if they go up but can't increase their crowds, like several other non league sides who have made the jump.

Why?

Again why?

Crawley should go up this year given the money they've shelled out.

But they are proving currently with the size of their crowds that they won't make a viable football league club. As soon as the money runs out (and it will) they are going to be deep in the shit.

Also I know they are top but they are hardly tearing the league up are they! Took a last minute winner yesterday against one of the league paupers who are in the bottom half of the table.

Would love to see Crawley in the league, it's high time that Sussex had another league team.

Well done Steve Foster for encouraging supporters to visit other clubs when the Albion are away. For those of you who have joined us at Eastbourne Borough this season, will certainly have had value.Leading goal scorers in the Conference and a club that is not dependent on one or two individuals with money to bank roll us.Probably the best run club in the conference who don't spend money that we don't have and and don't owe money.A true community club in every way, give us a try next time?

If I ever did decide to take in a game it would be Eastbourne over Crawley everytime. Frankly nothing of any worth has ever come out of Crawley.

Thank you. I cannot understand why any Albion supporter would not wish Eastbourne or Crawley well. I have longed for the day that Sussex has another league club (so long as in a lower league than the Albion!). It would benefit both teams, in loaning players/feeder clubs, as well as a bit of friendly rivalry.

When the Albion are away or not playing I always try to watch Eastbourne or Crawley. Indeed I used to watch Lewes too, before they went down. The game against Darlington when the Borough went down to 9 men, was one that I will always remember, given that Eastbourne scored with 9 men & I got myself a decent pint at half time. Went in my Albion top & all the locals were friendly.

On October 2nd, I'll be going to watch Crawley at home. The Albion are away to Tranmere (don't fancy that), so they will be getting my cheer.

After all............

Good olde Sussex by the Sea, good olde sussex by the sea & we are going up to win the cup for sussex by the sea.
