Crawley 1 1 Bolton

This.

Last time I went to Crawley I couldn't wait to get out, and that was only on a shopping trip to their horrid mall chock-full of chavs (it really was!). Swearing teenage mothers hitting their toddlers, people barging into us, and enough fake tan on show to re-paint all the sheds in Brighton.

Spend a day shopping in Worthing. No different to Crawley these days.

They must be disappointed with the crowd, only 2678. Thought they might of sold out for this game.

Crowd was slightly disappointing, the club made this match all ticket on the advice of sussex police and so you couldn't just turn up on the night and pay, which was a crazy decision and wouldn't have helped with the gate.

We also have 4 games in a row coming up at home if you include last nights match with Bolton and people these day watch the pennies.

Shame you got knocked out early would love to go to the amex stadium,oh well will just have to wait till next season.

My Mrs and her mate went to the market at Brighton race course on Sunday morning.
Never has she seen so many fat and ugly people converged in one place.
Needless to say she got out of there pretty quick.

Does she know the difference between a market and a car boot sale?

Cant stand Crawley the town - but thats got nothing to do with football

Crawley did nothing for us when we were down - however they were hardly on each other's radar at the time.... how much did Eastbourne Borough do?

Crawley had git of a manger - true but he's now gone

The ground's shite - well its hard to keep up with their recent achievements and us Withdeaners... who are we to talk?

We dont really think about them? WHAT??? We think about Cheaterfield and a host of other lower league clubs so why not Crawley.

They'll never be our rivals. WHAT??? Before 1976 and Mullery would the Palace thing ever have been expected? Who knows what the future will bring?

Five years ago Crawley was a corrupt club going down the pan.... now its making something of itself and it is now Sussex's second club... whatever we think of the bloody pikey place. Good luck to them... until they play us when I hope we whup their asses.

Going to Crawley end of October to meet some online friends (Crawley was chosen due to its easy links to Gatwick). It coincides with their home game against Oldham. Seeing as a number of us that are meeting are football fans we are thinking of taking the game in as a warm up to drinking.

Cannot say I look out for their results because I don't. That said I have no bad feelings towards them as a team. Would be different if we were in the same league but we are not.

Some very strange arguments and viewpoints being raised on this thread. So some people like Crawley, some people don't – I think we get the picture.

Not got a opinion either way, but playing devil's advocate:

Their past regime has been brought into question: They are not alone there.
People are criticising the town and the inhabitants: I presume these people have not ventured down London Road much recently?
Crawley didn't let us groundshare: 1) I don't think it's a straightforward as that; 2) There are countless other non-league clubs that didn't lift a finger
Their fans also support Palace: Do they? Do they REALLY?
Their ground is tinpot: Withdean anyone, Goldstone even? A few years ago they weren't even in the league FFS!

But really, what difference does it make to those Albion fans that despise/detest/loathe Crawley? Different leagues, different ambitions. Get over yourselves.

Whatever way you look at it, they've had a really decent few years, they've got Albion links on the playing and managerial side, and last night must have been pretty special for them.

Good luck to them.

No they don't.

Sounds like you talk a lot of shit mate.

It seems to be a Brighton myth about this Crawley/ Palace stuff.
How would i know, well, having lived in Crawley for the last 40 years tends to give you a good idea about who supports who.
But don't trouble yourself i'm sure you have a a busy weekend planned in Brighton this weekend:kiss:

It was all going so well until you got to the last line...:wrong:

I live in 8 miles away from Crawley and it is a working class town, but where is the shame in that? Of course there are chavs but there are also JOBS that pay enough to enable the inhabitants to actually live there, you can drive around in Crawley, and crucially you can PARK inexpensively, and most importantly, things actually get done in Crawley. It was a hideous place in the 60s, 70s and 80s but things are improving.

The snobbery of certain residents of greater-Brighton & Hove just beggers belief. Naturally, I like Brighton but you need to open your eyes to some of the problems it has. London Road, appalling traffic, no local jobs meaning loads have to commute to London to pay the mortgage, and nothing ever gets built - such intransigence has led to the iconinc West Pier fall into the sea, which is shameful.

Oh and I see you're from Portslade - one of the biggest shitholes on the Sussex coast. True irony.

Half their fans support Palace as well. If you are really that happy about them winning good for you, but I doubt anyone on a Brighton forum gives two shits.

There are SOME Palace fans in Crawley, like there are SOME BHA fans there too.

It was mainly a Spurs/West Ham town when it was originally a 'New Town', but nowadays it's full of Chelski.

Correct. It hasn't really been a true BHA or Palace town for as long as I can remember. Perhaps it was in the halcyon days of the late 70s when both clubs were on their way to division one?

Yep
I can't believe how people make brighton out to be the place, yes it's great for the weekend breaks and nightlife etc etc,but as a place it's rather run down and out of date. You get beggars galore and to be frank a lot of scruffy people and loads of druggy's, it's bloody shite for jobs aswell.I love brighton as a place but it's not moving with the times,it needs to invest and needs to attract business to the city and a lot more.I would never move back and i find reading a much better place when it comes to tidiness and prosperity.

Don't get me wrong i still love brighton:lolol:
