Surprised Noone has been specifically targeted for a bashing on here.....the whole team were inept last night (Bruno excepted).

The point being, Noone was getting a lot of success down the channel, and regularly beating the player, but his final ball, whether a cross or pass, was absolute horse shit.

i'm afraid his end product isn't good enough and he doesn't create enough chances to be in our starting 11 if we have any aspirations of getting promoted

you need more than "good at solo runs" to be a winger in a promotion winning side from this league

buckley scores and assists plenty of goals....and kll is improving all the time and was contributing a LOT more at the tail end of last season than noone did

really needs to up his game...with buckley and kll out at the moment this is his perfect opportunity to cement a place in the team...please take it (and learn how to cross)

Fair.

-he hasn't supplied goals from crosses for ages....off the top of my head I can think of 1 (blackpool at home), and 1 from a through ball (doncaster, after some absolutely superb play), after that i'm REALLY struggling to think of much of a contribution (assists wise) to last season

There was another, at the Amex at the very end of the season - he stood up a lovely little cross, for Barnes to volley home with the outside of his foot. Birmingham?

I just don't agree with anything you have written.

For my part I was roundly turned on in the Noooooney thread a few days ago.
When I said putting a training jersey on a car doesn't make him a good footballer.

He can still improve, but hasn't since losing his place last November.

I guess there is the possibility he rips it up in training, he is certainly capable of that, and is feeling the pressure of his first team performances.

My opinion of a player isn't going to effect how I support him (and the team) at Falmer.

I was responding to "he is non league" and "sell him to Cardiff". Totally over the top bollocks because people were upset by a bad performance and a bad result.

Understandable maybe, but still very silly.

It didn't help that when he or anyone else did get crosses in, there was no one looking to get in and around the six yard box. Vicente is not going to be winning headers in a forward position.

Maybe when we get that target man, players like Noone will have more of a target to cross to.

We went through all this may in August 2011. When I asked if Noone was overrated. I took a whole load of negative comments for suggesting such a thing.

I would love the guy to come good, as he seems a top fella. But I don't think he has it at this level.

Can't be arsed to trawl through all the bitching on this thread but didn't Noone pick out Vicente in the area for the turn and shot which was our best chance? In other words, created the best Albion moment of the game (not that there were many to choose from).

Noone had a great first half of last season and he'll have more great moments this year. Is he Lionel Messi? No. Is he good enough for this team right now, Yes.
His best cross of the evening, was still behind the Vicente.
Vicente turned it into an opportunity, by his skill, not Noone's.

As said on the Noooooney thread, of a couple of days ago.
All being well Noone will get it together, get the crosses working, and turn 'his' current issues in CMS'/Barnes/Hoskins problem.

A quality cross for CMS' header, and a pretty good game, all round (so the radio lead me to believe).

More please.

Don't believe the radio...he was lucky not to be sent off and Gus was not pleased. After what should have been Noone's second yellow Gus made an immediate change.

In the crazy world of NSC, even that is preferable to the insipid, uninspiring and pointless performance, v Swindon.

An inch perfect cross should have done CN the power of good, it's been a while since we've seen one.

Some more then.
2 or 3 decent crosses for sure but was within a whisker of being sent off. Apart from one glorious piece of control, his first touch and ball retention was generally poor. Postioning seemed pretty random, particularly when we were defending, and he didn't hit the target (quite) with our best chance, when there was plenty of time. Was replaced, whilst we could still do so, by KLL whom Hull unsuccessfully tried to control by putting two men on him. After the substitution, a bit more composure all round (and luck) would have seen us come home with 3 points imo.

It's all about opinions and I think he was unlucky to get booked as his foul was the mildest one made on the day. He had been taken out completely earlier on which the referee ignored until the linesman waved his flag furiously to draw his attention to it. Hull targetted him to get him sent off imo.

This. He had a great game and made 4 or 5 decent crosses and a number of reasonable shots.

Noone is a very skilful player but he has no end product wastes to many crosses and he shooting is terrible he is not a championship player hopefully Cardiff will renew their interest and take him off our hands
