Wow, some of these posts are awful.

He has supplied goals from crosses, he has scored goals, he has beaten his man well, he has shown excellent ball control, he just had a really bad game tonight.

Anyone remember his performance against Liverpool in the cup last season?

He is 24 and can still improve, and he does need to be more consistent with his end product.

But some of these posts are really stupid, I don't understand why some fans are so ready to slate our players after one bad game, particularly a player like Nooney who is so popular (not undeservedly) and on a good day can be beast.

That's the thing, he was excellent in the first half of last season, but he hasn't had a good game this calendar year. Is he a good player on a bad run or a bad player who was in the form of his life for some of last season? Maybe time will tell...

He doesn't deserve all the shit in this thread, that much I know.

i'm afraid his end product isn't good enough and he doesn't create enough chances to be in our starting 11 if we have any aspirations of getting promoted

you need more than "good at solo runs" to be a winger in a promotion winning side from this league

buckley scores and assists plenty of goals....and kll is improving all the time and was contributing a LOT more at the tail end of last season than noone did

really needs to up his game...with buckley and kll out at the moment this is his perfect opportunity to cement a place in the team...please take it (and learn how to cross)

-liverpool was ages ago and was probably the biggest game in his career
-he hasn't supplied goals from crosses for ages....off the top of my head I can think of 1 (blackpool at home), and 1 from a through ball (doncaster, after some absolutely superb play), after that i'm REALLY struggling to think of much of a contribution (assists wise) to last season

i like noone....but i just don't think he's improving much, whereas kazenga is improving massively in my view........noone's ball control and low centre of gravity should be a huge asset but without an end product he isn't going to get very far in the game

I've seen Noone play many times & think his style is pretty good...well as good as the majority of other players of his class!

Lacking confidence??? maybe, but time will tell that he's still a good player for the seagulls.

I just don't agree with anything you have written.

For my part I was roundly turned on in the Noooooney thread a few days ago.
When I said putting a training jersey on a car doesn't make him a good footballer.

He can still improve, but hasn't since losing his place last November.

I guess there is the possibility he rips it up in training, he is certainly capable of that, and is feeling the pressure of his first team performances.

My opinion of a player isn't going to effect how I support him (and the team) at Falmer.

He's good at making players look silly and going around full backs, it's his crossing that lets him down. That's why he's behind both LuaLua and Buckley (& was last season). It's going to stay that way until it does improve. That said he is still a valued member of the squad.

On reflection being the morning after.........

Noone's performance last night was in my opinion the worst by an Albion player, since we have been back in the Championship. Maybe, since the start of Gus reign as well?

On the positive, Noone cannot play any worse, if he is given the opportunity again

I was hoping that with a new season and clear head (no transfer talk from Cardiff) he would be back to his best but it's fair to say he had an absolute shocker last. He started last season so well that his dip in form as been more noticeable. Can we set up a game against Liverpool again just to cheer him up.

Always was my third choice wide man. I won't slate him but I think he's a fair way behind Buckley and KLL and think it might have been good business for us had we accepted the Cardiff bid. No doubt he's going to struggle for a while after that performance last night but hope he can come back

I do love Noone and there is no doubting his effort but like many have said his crossign was woeful last night. He takes defenders on, makes space for himself well but just can't get a decent ball into the box.

It was frustrating to watch last night.

That just about sums it up for me. I really like Noone but he did himself no favours last night and he firmly cemented his place at the back of the queue once all our wingers are fit. It was a real shame to see him balloon the ball into the air from promising positions. The frustrating thing is he was very good at taking people on, but he really has to work very hard on improving his delivery once he has got into the crossing/passing position.

exactly, even if Noone had got the cross in the box there was rarely anyone in it!
Because Vicente had to drop further and further back in order to get a touch of the ball.
Sound familiar CMS 'haters'.

He had an awful, awful game last night BUT... Even if he does put in a decent cross, there's rarely anyone there to convert it. Barnes converted one (with a slight push) but Vicente, Dicker, Harley, Bridcutt will not win anything because a) they don't head anything much and b) they're never in the box (Bridcutt can have an honourable exception to that one).

This should change when CMS, Buckley and Crofts are back in the side and *Insert Big Striker Here* signs because they are the sort of players that bomb into the box to support. I'm not saying Noone should be absolved completely because his delivery is poor very often but it must be very disheartening as a winger to look up and see at best one obscured player to aim for.

Besides, its one fairly meaningless game that taught some lessons hopefully. I'd rather this wake-up call happened now than at Hull.

Can't be arsed to trawl through all the bitching on this thread but didn't Noone pick out Vicente in the area for the turn and shot which was our best chance? In other words, created the best Albion moment of the game (not that there were many to choose from).

Noone had a great first half of last season and he'll have more great moments this year. Is he Lionel Messi? No. Is he good enough for this team right now, Yes.
