Still in Brighton
he is obviously very low on confidence and wankers lile WW won't help him. i think he shows enough potential to be a good player for us, if he tones down the headless chicken bit.

Ok, a few games in now, and I'm afraid I'm sticking to my suspicions from a few pages back. His biggest contribution is his willingness to chase down every ball and hassle defenders. I think his touch is poor and he doesn't appear to be a natural goal scorer at all.

When I first saw him against Peterborough I thought he was unfairly treated when their CB's kept clattering him from behind, and not a yellow card in sight. Now I see he seems to be a very enthusiastic student of "shielding the ball" but in a way that appears to make him forget there's even a ball there to control and keep hold of in the first place. I suspect he'll continue to win us, as well as give away, plenty of free kicks in the opposition half, is always good for putting defenders under pressure, but beyond that ?.... I'm not at all convinced I'm afraid.

I hate to be negative and I hope I'm proven wrong and he starts banging in some goals pronto - but I'm really not holding my breath. :(

I just think the lad tries too hard to get in the perfect shot, takes one touch too much, and the chance falls apart. Maybe time to take him out of the starting line-up in favour of Forster now he seems to be available again. I'm pretty sure that a spell in the reserves for Davies would build his confidence up with a shedload of goals and he'd bounce back into contention.

Sounds like Davies could turn out to be a spliced mutation of Revell and Elder unless his confidence returns.

He played one game for verona.

If you look at how many goals he gets it really has never been good

man city: 0 games 0 goals
Oxford: 48 games 8 goals (goal every 6 games)
Verona: 1 game no goals
Wolves: 23 games no goals.
Oldham: 44 games, 10 goals (goal every 4.4 games)
Stockport: 9 games, 5 goals (goal every 1.8 games)
Brighton: 6 games, 1 goal. (goal every 6 games)

Total: 131 games, 24 goals. (goal every 5.4 games)

So he is due a goal soon.

Slade has obviously seen enough potential in Davies to send Gargan back to Eastbourne on loan

I dont think it was a case of why he has a tatto rather than why would you have you OWN NAME tattoo'd on your arm

I think it's quite a good idea meself. For example, when he goes out & gets thoroughly CANED of an evening - he'll be able to look at his arm & remember who he is. Admittedly it won't work if certain substances have been consumed, but that doesn't mean the idea's a complete waste of time.. :)
