Obviously the Europa League win at Eintracht is a huge achievement and he's not a manager to turn your nose up to.
Yet being out of work for almost a full season, with a recent European trophy on his CV would suggest a few noses have been turned up.

Also question marks about why he decided to leave Eintracht Frankfurt with a year left on his contract. Apparently some of it was to do with what he perceived to be a lack of investment in the squad. Also he angered the squad with negative comments about one of their younger players.

Sounds like he’ll fit right in at Palace.

Has been constantly linked with clubs over that period. From Union Berlin to Tottenham.

As I said, it looks like it will be a classic Palace appointment of exciting manager who isn't given the tools in the long term (can't see Olise staying past the summer). Good.

I hope this does not turn into something a lot worse.

TalkShite have just announced Roy was supposed to take a press conference about Mondays game against Everton.
However it was cancelled because Roy was taken ill during this mornings training session...

I do wonder about that excuse, but if that is an excuse it is a shameful one, using the health of an old faithful manager.
So I kind of think he could be ill, if he is rivalry aside, I hope he is ok.

Quite a gamble here, I reckon he would have just about managed to keep them up

You know what this shows actually is that Roy is far more of a gentleman and legend, he took training in the full knowledge that his employers were actively looking for a replacement and letting all and sundry know they are.
He does not need any compensation package, he is far more loyal than they deserve.

Given all the Palace fans have been saying their squad is MILES better than ours, expect to see them finish top 6 now.

No excuses.
See, this is the thing exactly. However good / bad this Frankfurt chap is their squad only has four good players and they're ALL out injured. By the time he gets them back they might have lost five on the spin and become the new boo boy for the Always Ultras and their hilarious banners.
