Cox burst into the box and was felled by David Raven, but referee Patirck Miller adjudged the midfielder had dived and brandished the yellow card - Cox's fifth of the season.

Replays later showed Cox had an excellent case for a penalty, but he is now relying on referee Miller to watch the video and rescind his decision if he is to face the Irons at Upton Park.

"I'm not one for making excuses but we're not quite getting the rub of the green at the moment," Wilkins said.

"Coxy's booking is one of the most disappointing decisions that I've seen, because it gives us a penalty and it gives us another goal. We could be two up at half-time.

"The referee has been honest enough to ask for a video and he will look at the video and if he feels he's made the wrong decision then the booking won't stand and he'll [Cox] will be available for West Ham."

So he might yet play...

I didn't think that yellow cards could be appealed or rescinded? Or can the ref who made the decision change his mind?

Worthy of being on next weeks Soccer AM Scenes From Platoon?...

I know he's a Brighton player but diving really gets on my f***ing tits and I cannot stand players who do it regardless of who they play for (unless it's that Leon Knight chap, he was cool)...

Players diving is a huge part of why football has gradually got shitter and shitter to watch but that's just my opinion, others may enjoy players in trunks.

Couldn't agree more Trig.

Cox was WAY too flamboyant in the way he went down today. We were straight ahead of him and it just looked as if he took off before the bloke slid in.

Saw it from the mini Argus stand, and it looked a clear penalty (through the binoculars). My dad in P Block said the same.

But often its a case of angles isn't. Sadly the ref wasn't in the Argus stand!!! (mind you if he had been he would have seen Henderson's handball - how the f*** did he miss that!!!, to quote my 8 year old son. :D )

You really do not like Cox don't you?

???

Diving is WRONG.

Missing the clubs luxury tie is a perfect punishment - he'll be gutted about it, and i suspect it will ensure diving is not repeated in his game. It will also be an example to all the other young players and help to ensure that diving is not made part of their games.

Nothing to do with what i think of Dean Cox.
