[Albion] Covid Passports *may* allow return to full Premier League crowds

You are much less likely to do both so that is bollocks. The study I am on showed participants were 90% less likely to catch Covid and those that did had a very mild version. If you don’t catch it you don’t pass it on.

I wholly support vaccine passports for football matches, and for those that choose not to have the vaccine- tough. Those that genuinely can’t have the vaccine will be exempt provided they can prove why not (presumably a doctors letter or similar).

100% this. By all means choose not to have a vaccine if you’re daft enough, but if you’re able to have one (ie no medical reason not to) and don’t, then you’re in no place to complain if you’re not allowed to attend events and similar where there’s a risk of you infecting others.

The risk is still there with fully vaxxed people but it’s much much lower, so requiring evidence of vaccination for matches seems entirely sensible.

Can’t see the issue with this. I understand the argument against. But in this instance it seems rather sensible.

I guess if people don't agree with the passports or don't want to get vaccinated the club will give refunds?
Or maybe a st holiday as there may even be fully vaccinated that don't feel comfortable going either until cases drop.
Im hoping the club give us some official news soon but maybe it's a surprise to them too.

Of course it is. The Government roll out these rumours and then check back once the ‘Sun Says’ article about it has been written in order to gauge it’s right wing populist credentials. If the Sun does not kick up a fuss, it can then be made policy.

Barber & Co. will be absolutely furious at this news, mark my words. In addition, they’ll be following Premier League advice on the way forward but plans will be changing as we speak due to this possibility now.

Premier League are already working on an inhouse app

I dont think clubs care as long as it means customers.

Why do they need their own app? The NHS one works fine. I haven't massive amounts of memory on my phone so I try to keep apps to a minimum.

Suggests they may have been going that way anyway, connects to a data base for ticketing reason

no idea....

oddly the no-vaxxers focus on the 10% to support their misguided views.

I know from first-hand discussions with the club, possibly around the time the season ticket renewals programme was being worked out, that this is something they were expecting and preparing for.

Still interested to see how this is policed

With the current fiasco, you would get away with a screenshot of anyone's QRC.

Any venue or club with a brain cell would have a plan B for this exact scenario. The phrase “hope for the best, plan for the worst” should be the golden rule at present.

Because the NHS one isn’t plastered with adverts for Sky Bet and the data can’t be flogged to Budweiser or Barclays for marketing purposes…

Maybe something similar to my weekly bus ticket on my phone which has a “word of the day” on a banner which also moves around so a screen shot is quickly spotted.

Surely the sensible and easy way to do it is you have a giant data base with everyone status

Then when a ticket is purchased it’s crossed checked with that

Would allow access to home and away tickets

Schoolboy error, posting all that detail - just you wait. Tomorrow a grinning Das reich will be in your seat on the way to see his social worker when you attempt to board

Ha! He’ll have to do some good guessing, that ticket covers B&H and most of West Sussex!
