Our best chance is if Cosgrove explodes in the lunch room.

Wicket straight after lunch

Azad c Salt b Robinson 59

176 -3 - Only 54 needed - Only a Sussex style collapse can save us now.

You have to ask whether it is wise for Ben Brown to be wicketkeeper, captain AND bat No. 6 when our top order is so weak.

Leicestershire have well and truly pissed on my early season chips.

It's going to be another short season, it's the hope that kills you.

What a pathetic start to the season.
Can’t believe we didn’t bolster the top order in the winter
Starting to wonder if all the budget was spunked on Gillespie .
Fully expecting Sussex to ruin my summer

What other option is there at wk? And don’t say burgess . He can’t stop the ball .

As for captain - I’d have Chris Jordan all day

Sarah Taylor? According to some pundits, the best keeper in the world right now. That would shake things up :lolol::lolol:

I agree about Burgess though, I don't think I've seen a worse professional keeper.

As I said earlier, I wouldn't have played Briggs and put Wright, Rawlins or Burgess at 6 - Brown's batting too high up

Brown had a very good couple of seasons with the bat not so long ago. Same could be said of wells though. It’s falling away for both. Not there’s much in reserve.
You say you wouldn’t have played Briggs but Ackermann had our guys in quite a lot of trouble.
Maybe wright should have played but It’s movng deckchairs on the titanic really.
It’s a massive opportUnity to go up this season but I don’t see it. We would get pulverised in div one anyway.
Tell me I’m wrong gwylan. Give me reason to hope......and what about Cj for the skipper?

Jordan's season will be interrupted by England duty. All T20's and potentially as an ODI squad player. Brown is perfectly capable, I see no reason to change him. He bagged a pair, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt as it's the first game of the season in early April.

The batting was poor again. The 4 experienced players in Wright, Wells, SVZ & Brown have all had major injuries within the last few seasons. The inexperienced batsman in Haines, Salt and Finch all look talented but need the seasoned pros to pull them through. It feels like Finch has been here forever, but he's only 24 with around 30 FC games. Evans, Rawlins and Burgess are worth a go too, if batsman continue to fail. I see those three as ODI specialists... but if those already playing continue as are, the replacements can't do worse. I'm optimistic the batting can click.

My team for Durham would be:

Haines, Salt, Wells, SVZ, Wright, Finch, Brown, Weise, Jordan, Robinson, Hamza

Harsh on Briggs, but the pace attack with Wells as back up is good enough. If Briggs plays, I'll move Wells back to open and drop Salt, Haines or Finch.
