That would not surprise me. The way he got injured makes me believe he overstretched his hamstring, and that is not a good one. Compared to hamstring injuries you get from sprinting, the overstretching ones are located differently (higher up IIRC) which can create persistent and lengthy problems with the blood flow to the leg. And - again IIRC - its not possible to set a return date for that, but it usually takes many months and perhaps more so if you're 53 like James.Imagine Milner won’t be playing much more for us. Baleba might go but doubt this is related
Essentially we’ve lost the experience and nouse of Lalanna, Groß and now Milner from the midfield.Well it sounds like a Milner replacement because Baleba might already kind of be replaced (Yalcouye).
The club has not been expecting to sell Carlos this season I'm sure, but Citys desperate need for a Baleba like player might just change things. Tolisso is perhaps seen as the "experienced midfielder" replacement for Milner in the future but would also be a logical temporary bandaid replacement for Baleba.
I’d be very surprised if any agent worth his salt lets his player sign for Man City this January.Well it sounds like a Milner replacement because Baleba might already kind of be replaced (Yalcouye).

I'm not sure many agents care about whether a player gets relegated, especially when there would be a significant pay cheque if they can broker a move to CityI’d be very surprised if any agent worth his salt lets his player sign for Man City this January.
They are due to find out the result of the enquiry into their alleged breaking of PSR in February. Whilst they might get off with little more than a slap on the wrists, they could receive a punishment that would mean relegation to another league. A prudent agent and player would not do a deal until the summer in full knowledge of what the new landscape at Man City will be.
Baleba ain’t going nowhere this month.
Yep, especially as that would mean two moves when they then all desert City!I'm not sure many agents care about whether a player gets relegated, especially when there would be a significant pay cheque if they can broker a move to City
Sure.. it might happen. But Tolisso is definitely more of a curveball compared to signing British players on a free transfer. There’s a history on here of people looking at players with exceptional pedigree and writing them off. It happened with both Lallana and Welbeck. You could argue Lallana didn’t contribute a huge amount on the field but off it his impact was huge and there was no doubt of his quality when he did play.
It’s also happened with various players we’ve been linked with over the years- the likes of Barclay, Hudson Odoi etc etc.
Tolisso was good enough for Bayern (and could quite possibly be a lynchpin there still had he not done his cruciate) and to feature quite prominently for France for a couple of seasons.
We need some experience in and around the first team. That’s absolutely clear to anyone. A former Bayern and French international seems just the ticket to me.
Worth noting that Sage also plays a Klopp-style high energy, aggressive press style, so Tolisso will be well versed trying to implement Fab’s desired heavy metal football (even if there’s little sign of that on the field currently).
If there any truth in this, and any truth in Tomori and St Juste, then I think that’s a good sign that the club are identifying our two key weaknesses- pace at the back and an overall lack of leaders and experience.
There has been tremendous turnover in our midfield recently - it is only a season-and-a-half ago that we had the world-class talents of Caicedo and Mac Allister in there.Essentially we’ve lost the experience and nouse of Lalanna, Groß and now Milner from the midfield.
We haven't had a "full" midfielder since Kemy Agustein left. From L'Equipe...
“Brighton is looking for a full and experienced midfielder, and the 2018 world champion fits perfectly with the profile.
