If rumours are true then JC might just launch a new proper socialist party for those not satisfied with Starmers Labour option. Could this split the left vote enough to stop an overall majority for anyone, or just let the Conservatives in through the back door?

Well Jeremy Corbyn loves nothing more than helping the Tories win, but his dreams will be thwarted this time. There seems to be a mood in the country for change, as evidenced by the polls.

Calling @Dr. No

Anyway, the soppy old **** is so disorganized he's more likely to launch himself into a hedge than launch a new political party..

Could call it UTwit if he's looking for a name for it.

Tories would need more than a crazy washed up Trotsky to save them.

You use the term "left of centre" party, anything involving red jezza will left of everything. The centre, a hell of a long trip to the right.

If he's got an ounce of sense, which is debatable. He'll at least wait until after the GE to launch his utopian Venezuala2 wet dream.

The tories will be praying he does . . . They could well win another GE if everyone else ( the moral najority 🙄 ) split the vote, so the likes of Laughton win Adur with 30% of the vote.
You rate Corbyn's appeal much more than I do. I hadn't got you down as a fan. ???

I don't think so. As we saw with TIG/Change UK it takes a lot to persuade enough MPs to join the party AND enough of the public to vote for new candidates to make any sort of difference, certainly in less than a year.

And the seats where a Corbyn-led party might get a significant enough following to split the Labour vote, would be unlikely to return a Tory MP anyway.

We'll I'm definitely in, or and completely opposed to anti-Semitism. Can't quite see what Starmer would offer that would sit with my conscience - I certainly couldn't give my support to much of what Labour now advocates.
Congratulations. You can spend more time with your conscience if you have a suitable candidate to vote for. It's very important that we can all feel we can vote for exactly what we want. Even if that vote is a futile waste of a walk to the polling booth.

Meanwhile the rest of us can focus on getting the Tories out. Or indeed in, if that's what we want.

I believe that voting is a method of selecting a government, rather than performance art.

Also, the tories would surely be praying he be allowed to rejoin labour and piss again in its pool.

Perhaps I'm wrong and maybe Corbyn is massively popular with people intending to vote for Starmer. Somehow, I don't....think so. Time will, of course, tell.

Sorry to sound pissy but your post has made me raise an eyebrow.

All things considered - Corbyn upsetting Gammons is still a good thing.

If these constituencies did return a UTwat MP..... which side of the house would they sit?

Would they sit opposite the hated Starmer who refused to throw Israel into the sea?

Or would they sit opposite the party that openly and unconditionally supports Israel?

Decisions....decisions....innit.

(Any constituency returning a UTwat MP would be very much welcome to them, in my view, and a candidate constituency for reduced public funding. But I can't see even the ones westy listed being mad enough to machine gun themselves in the face, Hamas style).
