I am definitely with you about let's not all lynch one poster that may have mistakenly posted something wrong.
Lynching has been allowed to be common place on NSC for sometime, I should know.......have you ever had it in for someone by chance?

All I can say is why the hell has this thread not been locked yet.:nono::nono:

You don't know what your doing.......:wrong:

I saw your earlier post and I saw you decent reply.

This is not a day for making cheap points (you're not).

And yes, I have repeatedly been unpleasant to you over a long period. On occasions like this it is an opportunity for everyone to take stock. I'm going to 'unblock' you, I think.

Saddened but somehow not surprised that some people can't leave politics out of it for just a few hours as an elected representative lies fighting for his life after being stabbed in public.

Sort of thing you would hope the mods would hand a ban for. Totally disgraceful comment to make

Based on what I have heard on the radio, I would say that there has been a universal coming together from all sides of the political spectrum, condemning the murder and offering sympathies to his wife and his 5 kids who woke up this morning as normal but suddenly find themselves without their husband and dad this evening.

Of course there were a couple of (what I consider to be) ill-judged and crass comments on here as soon as the news broke that he'd been stabbed - but then there always is when stuff like this happens. But I expect the posts have generated the reaction that was intended and we all have to be judged by our comments if we choose to share them on a public forum.

You are quite right. I agree with every word. Having watched the news, I'm getting the same message as well. The polarisation on this forum is not reflective of the wider public.

David Amess seems to have enjoyed respect from both sides of the house, and from his constituents. He was regarded as both a gentle man and a gentleman.

By the way, I can see your words were carefully chosen, detailing your observations, without giving offence. Perhaps a lesson for us all.

I really don't want to derail this by breaking into conversation about moderating decisions - but a few people have expressed the same view so maybe I can address it here and then I'll make no further comment about it on this particular thread. Also, I haven't spoken with any other moderators about this, so these are only my views and not Moderating Policy, if that makes sense.

I regarded the comments made as 'opinions.' Not ones I share and also ones that I found to be crass and ill-judged given the nature of the incident. But they didn't break any NSC rules, they weren't illegal and they won't put Bozza or NSC in a difficult legal situation. So then we come to the tricky business of banning people for expressing an opinion and from there on deciding which opinions are 'bannable' and which aren't. I'm really happy to help Bozza out by moderating as best I can and using the best judgement I have at the time - but I don't want to ban long-term posters for stating their opinions, so long as they are legal and aren't hugely offensive, intended or otherwise.

I probably get as much wrong as I get right (and that's being generous) but like I say, all the above is only my view and how I try to interpret my role as a Moderator.

Firstly, and most importantly RIP David Amess

“likely”

You’re completely guessing.

It wasn’t part of an intelligent discussion, it was a couple of left wing posters who couldn’t wait to put the boot into someone they had a very limited/blinkered view on. With a couple of like minded people, no surprise whatsoever, defending their political chums.

Be honest, you know that’s how it works on social media including nsc, a load of people live, eat and drink a class war in their minds.

This. A useful contrast, HT's first, entirely appropriate post on the Jo Cox thread ...

**** me. And what a ****ing coward her attacker is.

RIP

... can you imagine any of the people suggesting posting about 'context'/voting record on this thread would have been fine with similar views being expressed by (purely coincidentally) people who have an extreme dislike of the Labour party on that thread ...

Good reply and makes total sense. Just think it is so sad that a man has died today and it has turned into a bin fest. Thanks Bry

I unblocked to read your comment and you are of course correct, but please read the whole thread. This is like dogs repeatedly digging up other dogs' dirt.

And although I agree with your point, you are also making a political point yourself.

Time for this to stop. Please.

I agree, but I think the virtue signaling has gone on enough now. Almost half this thread is reminder after reminder that HT wrote something inappropriate. We don't all need to keep repeating the same criticism, and copying and requoting his original comments (which, unlike the original comments, cannot be edited). As Simster perhaps anticipated, this thread is reducing to a HT lynch mob. Enough, now. Please.

I agree with all the above, perhaps it is time this thread was locked before it becomes even more unpleasant?

I got 18 Thumbs Up for my call for Herr Tubthumper to be banned short term for his disgustingly inappropriate contribution earlier today.

Perhaps we can leave it with the mods to see if any of them are brave enough to administer the appropriate sanction, because on this occasion it is fully warranted, and it seriously needs to happen. It is not right for the so-called big-wigs of this board to think they are waterproof.

The most disgusting post on this thread. A celebratory kiss because 'the truth' (what truth?) will come out. Gloating.

Disgusting.

He was removed from the thread many hours ago, by me.

It's a shocking event that sits way above any party political bickering, so I'm not going to add anything else.

Enjoy your Friday night. If you are lucky enough to have family close by, enjoy that too. We too often take it for granted.

Can it be locked? Surely all it is now doing is releasing bile from both sides?
