AFC Wimbledon today secured their place in the record books by setting the longest unbeaten league run in senior football. A 1-1 draw at Bromley was enough to secure the Dons' place in history -

I think it's 4 promotions/relegations.

Rymans div one now.
Rrymans prem next season for QFC and div 2 for franchise sum
Nationwide conf south
Nationwide conf
div2.

If franchise keep falling and AFC keep rising they could pass at the end of next season :)

If there is such a thing as poetic justice in football, the contrasting tales of MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon are just that. The Milton Keynes-based franchise, whose unprecedented decision to quit the city of their roots caused widespread disquiet in the game, has hit hard times - sliding down the League One table to the relegation positions in an eight-match winless run.
Meanwhile the club whose very raison d'être is hatred of everything that MK Dons stand for can revel in an unbeaten sequence that is set to break the English league record at Bromley this afternoon. AFC Wimbledon have not lost a league game since they went down 2-0 to Withdean 2000 in February 2003, equalling the record of 75 games St Blazey set in the South Western League last year.

"The secret has been the support," said the centre-half Matt Everard. "People come to us and they're used to playing in front of 70 people and there's 3,000. Some people rise to it; some people melt in front of it."

Only half a dozen clubs in non-league football, all in the Conference, can boast comparable support as the club playing in the Ryman League First Division.

The idea of playing for the fans is - with varying degrees - shared throughout football, but it is at AFC Wimbledon that the fans pay the wages in the truest sense of the phrase. "It's an amazing feat what has been achieved here, on and off the pitch," Everard said. "What garners interest in the club is the support. They own and run the club."

Everard recognises that the circumstances in which his club was born should not be repeated. "If you look at what happened with Milton Keynes, the [Football Association] must surely realise it's an outrageous decision to make," he said. "So I'd like to think they'll recognise the errors they made and not let it happen again."

I watched the mk dons on the tele this morning and got soooo angry. How can people let this happen.

I salute all real football fans. Long live AFC Wimbledon. I oneday hope they get to play the MK's, maybe in the cup (sooner than the league) and they get to stuff them!
