ONE YEAR?!?!?! - Why only 1 year?!?!?!

He would obviously want to be in the starting 11 at a decent premiership club, but injuries have meant that's not currently an option. So instead he'd like to prove himself in a lower league, playing the right style of football. If he can prove himself, he probably wouldn't want to sign for more than 1 year, as it leaves him the option to move to a big club if he regains his fitness and form. If I were him I'd probably only want a 1 year contract, and if that's all he's prepared to sign you'd hardly turn him down.

If he turns out to be a flop then we get shot and if he's good we can extend his contract no matter who is interested in him.

I'm not sure that will be our deal. If he turns out to be too good, it may just be one glorious year with us. But that's still better than nothing. Hopefully he'll be great, but not quite top of premiership level, and he'll stay with us because he wants to play our style of football. All I need to do now is get god to sort it out.

As someone who knows very little about Spanish football, can someone give me a comparison please. How does Vicente compare with, for example, David Beckam 6 years ago? from what I have read they were both considered amongst the best players in the world at some point. I guess what I'm sayin is could he still have a few years of being an outstanding player left in him.
