Yeah, there's some money coming in, and it's being spent on the team. But Eastbourne aren't too shabby on the pitch either.

So if they're similar on-pitch, I was comparing stuff off-pitch, and there just appears to be a bigger infrastructure at Eastbourne. Could be nonsense, of course, but that's the outside appearance.

Take it from me Al, Lewes are paying a significant amount more than Eastbourne are in players wages. One of Eastbourne's top scorers (may even be top scorer) is on less than the lowest paid player at Lewes. They are really splashing the cash, whereas Eastbourne are still having to live within their means.

The Eastbourne boss said at the start of the season that he didn't think they would make it all the way through because of the size of the squad, but they have been lucky with injuries.

Go on the Langney - you can do it!

Just got back from the Dripping Pan.

They've got an inspection with the Conference bods this week. They've done all the work they've been asked to do in order to come up to Conference standard and are hoping/confident of the green light...

That is good.

What are they doing with the slope on the left hand side? - is that legal in the blue square premiership or will they have to do something about that

Spending more money on wages doesn't necessarily mean that Lewes are living beyond their means. It could just be that said means are greater than Boro's in the first place.

Incidentally, how do you KNOW that what you've just posted is correct? Have the boards of both clubs allowed you access to their books?

Nothing for the time being.

As long as they can make sure no-one pisses about on it, they can have that side open. They are installing six new turnstiles, including two at the far end for away fans - they now need proper segregation to go up.

Further to what TLO has said, the relevant ground grading documents for the Conference (Grades A & B) can be found here.

Im sure that will be easier said than done.

Just out of interest how much work would they have to do if they were to go up again?

Hardly 'nothing'. They're an amalgamation of Langney Sports and Eastbourne... er Town? United?

no they just changed their name from Langney because when they reached the Dr. Martens league no one knew where the hell Langney was. some people thought they were based in the midlands

It was Eastbourne Utd who merged with another local team - Shinewater AFC

To become Eastbourne United Association, one of the strangest names in football.
