Hang on - where's the finale? A video of Diana as a kid, and music by Queen?! I don't get it

Bit of a damp squib, was expecting Elton to do a reprise of the Diana song.

Can't help feeling the producers bottled the ending of this show BIG time.

64'000 in the stadium and a worldwide audience of millions, and the show just petered out. They should have either INSISTED Elton John did Candle in the Wind (afterall, that is what everybody there wanted to hear), or they should have got George Michael on do do a good old WHAM! medley.

What they shouldn't have done is let it just fizzle out like it did. V disappointing.

load of hypocritical bullshit-i hope my kids can experience one tenth of the life those boys have and i know if my missus spent ten times as much time doing work for charity she would get one millionth of the recognition di has had ,regardless of the fact diana never had to work to support her kids.i feel sorry for anyone who looses a parent and i appreciate they have had to do so in the public eye. but having lost friends and family alot younger than her who happened to be alot less privileged this whole concert leaves a sour taste

It's sad, but it makes it sadder that you look at it that way.
This was a person (and still is) who championed causes that your own have, yet you are soured because her profile is higher and her fame more luminous?
The point of charity has NEVER been so that the giver receives credit..... in this world.
If Diana Spencer gained credit, she ploughed it straight back into charitable work, and that example is still maintaining momentum.

The widow who gave her last 'mite', was said to have given more than the rich who gave a percentage - so that widow was looked upon as the most worthy of blessing.
That lesson, should you care to believe the point of it, should give you comfort, not leave you disquieted.

I certainly won't try to say you are wrong to feel the way you do, but maybe to be open to think about the spirit behind Diana's time and efforts with a little less bitterness.
She could have so easily just buggered about rolling around in riches, and ignored the poor, sick, dying and disabled. Most people would - and do.

bob geldof as rough as he looks aint short of a few quid ,same as bono .you know the pikey selling roses and the chuggers down cranbourne street they all sum up charity.its a lie to heal peoples guilt. i have first hand experience ,seeing my cousin die of cancer ,for every celeb who is ''pictured'' visiting dying kids there are five celebs who dont and they all seem to be the same people either side

Surprised that princes Bill and Harold had to refer to ill-concealed cue cards for what were hardly complicated or lengthy speeches.

Well I just got back from Wembley and had a fantastic day, I've seen some great acts, the atmosphere was pretty good (though the stewards insisted everyone sat down at various times even though the acts were telling us to stand) just a shame the concert fizzled out at the end, we were all expecting a big finale.

And yes I am a 40-50 year old mum, probably I was acting as a 25 year old and yes I do think Diana was an inspirational figure. I can't see why the fact she had money has anything to do with how popular she was and still is, she was probably one of the best ambassadors for the UK this country has ever had and much of the work she did for charity was behind the scenes and not publicised. And if the legacy of her death is that money can still be raised in her name for charity then all the better.
