Dora Bryans hotel on the front now sadly gone and the Odean... home of Saturday morning cinema......aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh

Brighton is truly the best home for kiddies nostalgia.

Can you imagine nowadays people being let that close?

I remember going down to see it in the night and half the town was there. Wouldnt happen now Brighton people are too cool. (Unless Fatboy was playing a DJ set off the bridge with his arms outstretched, or they were projecting a film on the side of it, or some other mindless herd mentality 'event' that people could pose at.)

The Marina before it was "done" up. You had to get a pass to get in thru turnstiles.

Paying to get on the Palace Pier. The Palace Pier before extension when it had a theatre (or something at the end where the dome is now)...

The rides by the pier (now the defunct Sega world) consisting of the funny policeman (well lady birds on a circular track) as well as old style cars as well.

Ha ha! I have one of my father and I. I must have been about what 6/7 at the time.

The old odeon with the escalator up the side. That froze up in the winter when Star Wars was on.

If you were pissed and taking a short cut home, that fence was a proper death trap
