I think what many people are trying to say is that, although we're in a similar position to last season, the team looks significantly better, & as though they are at least capable of getting it together when they finally stop making stupid errors. Adams' side of last year simply looked clueless & incapable of doing anything about it.

We have some more than useful midfielders, and i'd fancy any one of the three strikers we had on the pitch at the end of yesterday's game over any of the ones MK had out there. We have to find an experienced centre half to replace Elphick or Virgo alongside Tunnicliffe, get our full backs fit (though Bennett did superbly yesterday) and maybe look at the goalkeeper too.

I'd definitely have Easter over Dickinson

You are spot on, we all can sit here and be negative about everything if it makes us feel better... but let's face it, we aren't as bad as the league suggests and we don't deserve the results we've been getting lately. It won't be long until it turns around, and when it does, wham.

First season at the Withdean we ended with a 16 match unbeaten run after Micky developed and built the team throughout the first half and a few months into the second. It's happening again! Micky won the league the season after that, and I can see a REALLY strong end to this season and a brilliant campaign next. Just have patience, and respect for the work that is being done. I know it's hard, we all want success straight away but it takes time, and effort and commitment. We have the manager, we have the players and we have the time to get everything right. Calm down, ladies and gents, we're going to be brilliant.

YES! Absoltuly correct. We're playing well enough to stay up, once we start firing, and then next season its a promotion to the Championship!

Last season I was a doom and gloom merchant saying we looked like a relegation side all season long. This season I just do not feel that. We are playing better football and the team seem to be playing to a plan whereas last season we ran around like headless chickens..
Yet, after 10 games we are in a relegation position. October seems to be quite an important month. Win our game in hand and pick up another 6 points and all will be well.To still be in a relegation spot in November would be very damaging to team morale, spectators support and possibly management's future.

The Table is true after 10 games so thats where we deserve to be I'm afraid.

Can we get out of it.....without a doubt !

My sentiments entirely, last year you could just tell it wouldn't improve, this year I think we've shown enough in patches that we could be a decent side very soon.

Cheer up! After 10 games the tables begin to take shape, but often, very often, teams near the foot buck up and motor up the table.

Our ten were good yesterday.

Prepare to motor.

The league table NEVER lies. Well maybe after 1 game but 10 games ?, a quarter of the way through the season, I think not. The lower leagues are littered we teams " in a false position " and " too good to go down ". Leeds still think they should be in the Premiership and European cup.

The team at the top is the best team in the league, the team at the bottom is the worst team in the league on play so far. We are the 3rd worst team in this division. Those are the facts.

We may end up mid table but at the moment we are in the relegation zone done to results and lack of discipline.

The trouble is we are 2 points away from safety, Very small I hear you say but a gap after 10 games is worrying, that could become 5 points, 10 points in no time.

Is this really what was expected this season ?.

I would love to be more positive but as people have said the table doesn't lie. Look at the positions of teams we have already struggled against!

We were poor yesterday, very poor, we've played well in parts of games but we need to do that for 90 minutes + if we are going to improve. We can't start to say we are too good to go down etc, it's simple we must start winning and I, for one, can't see how we are going to do that consistently.

It's not disloyal, it's not fair weather ... I am ever present at home and attend about 40% away ... it's realism, this is where we are.

Should Slade go, no, who would replace him? Is he up to the job? Not sure to be honest.

It appears that many of our supporters are in complete denial!!!! - we are there because we can't defend and concede stupid goals - plus our home from is an absolute disgrace! - and no i'm not advocating sacking Slade - yet!

So how long do we carry on playing well and not picking up points before people start to say, "winning football matches is what its all about"....not being the best football team in the bottom four??

I actually agree with you, but this is EXACTLY what we were saying this time last season is it not? And I actually think we were higher in the table this time last year.

I wonder how many of the "we are playing good stuff, and in a false position people" are the same ones(those who are old enough) who wanted Mike Bailey out, for playing negitive stuff in early 80's, despite factualy being the best team we ever had, in tearms of the footballing league ladder?

We're playing well.. having ten men for god knows how many minutes already this season hasn't done us any favours. We're not playing dire football which is what a lot of teams around us are playing. We will start racking up the points soon.

Patience is a virtue!

I don't disagree Edna, but Giraffe made the ascertation that we're in a 'completely false position'. I think it's the 'completely' that some of us disagree with.

At least nobody thinks we're too high!

I don't think the position is completely false per se, at the end of the day we've lost too many games.

I just think that at least the current team has the potential within it to improve, there are good players out there that either aren't playing well enough, or haven't clicked together yet. Whereas last year I looked at the eleven on the pitch and honestly thought that there was no reasonable prospect of improvement from most if not all of them, and was thus left with the only hope that we might be able to roll the dice and get lucky with a loan signing or two to drag us up and out of the mediocrity.

If that makes sense.
