I thought this was a thread about common sayings people get wrong, it seems to have been turned into an English lesson by some posters.

It's a very similar thing - people getting common sayings wrong is often through misunderstanding/misuse of the English language.

Edit: Seems I was wrong. But it's still an ugly use of the word 'invite' if used as a noun.

Seen several times in posts on Nsc - queue when they actually mean cue. It's a prompt, as in an actor's prompt, meaning lots of posts will follow this.
