Home made, with decent cheddar, a bit of cayenne & black pepper for a kick, and some crusty bread.
I'm hungry just thinking about that.
Comfort food during a particularly Cr*p Winter.
To make it all feel better and happier. What is yours ?
I will go for Cauliflower Cheese topped with Crispy Bacon and potato chips with a good amount of Worcester Sauce.
Any decent recipes ?
This is SURELY the Winter of Beelzebub !
Shepherds Pie, homemade with cheese melted on top, bottle of red
For a gourmet version try making it with stilton and apricots. For us carnivores Steak and anything but kidney pudding, Harveys Old and my mum's steamed chocolate pudding with layer apple at the bottom and custard.

Good thread Uncle, strangely enough, I am cooking one of my favourite winter recipes as we speak. Flemish Beef Stew. various derivations online but its basically slow cooked chunks of Beef with onions, herbs and some good strength beer and slow cooked. delightful with mash and French Beans and Carrots.
I've no idea why Edna and Uncle haven't been snapped up. Macaroni cheese, favourite comfort food? Cheap dates.
Snapped up by who, you cheeky *******? What do you know?
If this thread was about your top choice for restaurant food, maybe people's answers would be different (mine would).

Float a slice of mustard bread on the top 15 mins before serving.
You been snapped up then Krabbie?
I was going to offer you a Knickerbocker glory....
Liver and bacon, delicious.
Angel Delight. God knows why, I've never really liked it at any point in my life until the last few months, but now I'm doing a sachet pretty much every single day. Chocolate, strawberry, butterscotch, banana - whatever I can get my hands on I'll demolish in a couple of minutes. It's not even slightly wintry - or particularly nice for that matter. But that doesn't stop me driving to Asda at 11pm if I've run out.
Still, I've never done drugs or smoked and I only drink once every three or four weeks, so it all balances out.
