Anyway Bushy. After the Derby game there is a pro Obama party at the Old Market in Hove. Triple winner as the proceeds go to the Labour party to help fend off the tories at the next election. I think this is called a win, win, win evening. See you there for a glass of fizz :)

Old Boris Johnstone just declared his hand for Obama?

yes mate , "they" as in black people, i'm genuinely not trying to be funny as we have a mutual friend and may hopefully have a drink together if you're going next week, but i really do fail to see how " they" can be interpeted in any way as derogatory ?

They, as in "they can't have it both ways", as if all black people are somehow the same and of the same view. A view that, incidentally you have assumed in the first place. The them and us attitude, with "them" having the chip on their shoulders just doesn't sit well with me. Doesn't mean you can't buy me a drink though.

i'm struggling to understand what its got to do with you ?

You also apparently struggling to understand that this is a message board and anyone can chip in to any conversation they want to. Keep up.

Was he an ordinary Guy ? He was earning nowhere near the amount he was asking the question about - and to show what type of citizen he was he had not paid all his taxes. It looked like a set-up, or he was trying to make a political point - not one from his own experience.

The point was made because in the near future he is thinking about buying into and taking over his boss' business. That would take him into the earnings bracket he was asking the question about.

And whether he has back taxes or not is irrelevant - the question was about Barack Obama's tax policy. Of course the Obama campaign has now embarked on this smear tactic to discredit the guy to try and deflect attention away from the original question.

f*** me... this sounds like a Sarah Palin speech. You've just listed things McCain's campaign came up when he slid so far in the polls. If these were real issues they would have been brought up months ago.

Points 1, 2, 3 and 4 WERE known about months ago. I remember reading about them.

Point 5 has come up more recently simply as a result of the mortgage and financial problems.

So as far as I am concerned, these ARE real issues. They're taking a more centre-stage role now because of how close the election actually is. That is to be expected! Doesn't mean they're any less-relevant.

Well it all depends whether you choose to take it at face-value or not.

And back taxes are not irrelevant - if he doesn't pay his taxes - what impact would an increase in taxes have ?
