Was in suffolk the other day and drove past there new stadia and I look forward to visiting it next year.

The local papers were saying that Hammond was looking better as each game passed. I think he was a great player for us and yet another loss in the Falmer factor. The fact hey stuffed high flying Ipswich in a local Derby last week shows how they are building a good side.

Good luck to him, some fans have always been on his back anyway but I for one will applaud him and then hope he has a stinker against us.

As did Revell, Zamora, Ward, Lawrenson etc etc. They all walked out to get more money when in all probability the club would have loved them to stay.

Dont see them getting booed (well aprt from Lawrenson who has to be reminded that he actually played for us in the first place!!)

Don't forget Harding

As i posted earlier. It's not about walking out, because you can't blame players for wanting to further their career. But it's the way certain players do it. Revell received an applause and 'Revelldinho' chants from the fans on Tuesday because he left the club on amicable terms, and so do most players apart from the Hardings etc...

So the club should have matched what Colchester were offering?

How do you know they didn't?

Hammond always maintained that he wanted to play in the Championship. The money probably had little to do with it at the end of the day.

He signed for Colchester, they were already as good as relegated when he signed!

I don't know that they didn't, but from all was said at the time by the club and by Hammond and his agent, it seemed like that was the case.

If they did, I would say that his decision to move to Colchester who were odds-on to be relegated was a very bizarre one. It was always an outside chance of Albion getting into the Championship but still a better chance than Colchester staying in it.

It had to be more money, surely? Don't blame him for that either.

I'm a bit indifferent to him, but I'll probably boo him just for the fun of it. I hate all this 'lets hold hands and be nice to each other rubbish', I want The Withdean to be a cauldron of HATE

I don't think anybody blames him for going because of the money, it was the way in which he did it.
It wasn't as though he was approached then had to make a difficult decision, he, from what I have heard, was holding out for a Championship club to come along.

There have been plenty of players that have moved on, without belittling the club a good example being Adam Virgo.

It's the attitude of players like Hammond & Harding that I can't stand, and that is the reason he won't be getting an applause from me.

Couldn't agree more. Why can't he just say he was going for more money in the first place. If he had any respect for the club he would have signed a contract with a get out clause for the end of the season (as did Carole). We could have got a bigger fee and he would have had more time to get with a reasonable Championship club. Less we forget that not only did his wages apparently go up four fold but his agents cut did, as well as any signing on fee!

Having said that, I never rated him and think the Thomson/El Abd partnership in the middle was far better.

I dont understand the bad feeling towards him. I really dont. :(

For me, its because....

What pissed me off was him and his agent dressing it up under this "ambition" bollocks. Just be HONEST about it for christs sake - its for the money, nothing else. Don't take the fans for mugs with this "club must prove its ambition" bullshit.
