CMS You Are The Weakest Link

Darren Ferguson you must have been having a laugh in the Executive Lounge at The Amex tonight. Or was it a case of seeking CMS on a loan basis for next season?

I have watched CMS at home every game this season & quite a few away games too. I have not criticised the player until now! Sorry Craig, you were the weakest link tonight. The boys played a blinder yet you did nothing. I am fed up of you running around like a headless chicken. You cannot hold the ball & when you do get near to the goal, hardly threaten the goalie. What? 12 goals this season, in a team that is 7th!!! You are not up to Championship football. You were not up to Championship football with Peterborough yet everyone at the Albion thought that this was because you were in a 'weaker' side.

Tonight was probably our best home performance of the season. All our players had a blinder, except our centre forward. Even Gus seems to have recognised that you are not up to it, having subbed you.

I maybe ranting, however, I have bit my lip until now. Ferguson you can have him on loan, better still make us an offer, even if it is one lower than what we paid. The rest of the team deserve better.

I presume I will get slaughtered by those who 'love' CMS, however, as far as I am concerned, the love affair has gone. Time for player & club to move their separate ways.

A fair and balanced assessment. If we harbour realistic hopes of automatic promotion next season he needs to be replaced.

We didn't play much quality up to him though, did we. We are a very good team until the final third. Dicker made a real difference tonight, but we're not penetrating enough. CMS needs balls through for him to thrive, and balls across the box. He didn't get any sort of service up front tonight, that's the long and short of it. We're very good until the final third.

I LOVE CM-S but it's just not working for him anymore is it ? A real shame. I LOVE his work ethic and his attitude. Good luck Craig whatever the future brings you with us or elsewhere.

On the evidence of this season I am beginning to feel the same TBH..... His effort is faultless... However his ability has been lacking somewhat from what we thought we were getting.

Still not convinced that he suits our style... That is not entirely his fault!

Strange I thought Dicker was poor tonight. Far too many misplaced passes which is a trend with him.

I thought he played well tonight. He chased down every ball, worked the defenders and done everything he was meant to except score unfortunately.

Is this is a joke? He was absolutely f***ing awful. Terrible. Every time the ball came to him it fumbled off his shin. It was woeful. He let the team down tonight.

Why the f*** did it take 80 minutes to get him off. I was so frustrated

I personally do not think it has/will work out for CMS here and think he will be sold in the summer. The only person that should be criticised for this is Gus Poyet. To target a player like he did with CMS, spend that amount of money on him, sell the club to him, sell the style of play to him and then leave him isolated up front, playing with his back to goal and getting half a chance a game at best in the 18 yard box is baffling. CMS has run himself into the ground and is attitude cannot be questioned but as the season has gone on he has become more and more rusty due to a lack of service and clear cut chances.

One further point, Burnley away was the first time I questioned his work ethic and commitment to the cause. I have supported him all season and said he's the victim of the system gus employs but he had his chance with Vokes and his lack of movement was frankly embarrassing vs Burnley.

i actually thought his link up play, particularly with Vicente was pretty good. He kept coming off defenders to get in space foir balls to feet. Problem is that is not what his natural strength is or what we bought him for. He NEVER gets through balls to run on to which his his main strength. Admittedly he doesn't look anything like the player he was in first half of the season

His first touch has got worse as the season has progressed. Even when he has been partnered with vokes /barnes even painter he has never got himself positioned properly.....love his work ethic etc etc etc as per the other posts....
but we need better.

Funny thing is, I counted five "through-balls" for him, but he was on his heals and didn't get anywhere near.

None of them were quality though, were they. Apart from the one in the first half where he should have been able to get away. I'd forgotten that one actually. That was disappointing.
