Good luck to Craig - score a few goals and look forward to seeing him back in an Albion shirt.

Will Hoskins in his brief time on the pitch for us showed the incisive strikers movement that CMS rarely produced. And I remember feeling a bit sick in the stomach when I saw CMS's touch first time out at the Amex.
So much goodwill. Still, never mind. Good luck Craig.

Got to be up there as one of our worst signings ever.

Don't get me wrong he's miles away from being the worst player but for the money we paid for him......

He was basically an VERY expensive Gary Hart.

Wouldn't surprise me if the deal MacAnthony has done for him involve a price to buy him in Jan. £500k??

Agree totally, but an unpopular view, because CMS comes across as a nice guy.

I don't go with the theory that Poyet, Garcia and Hyppia all did CMS a disservice. If he was innately a quality Championship player, not being a fair crack by us, other Championship or PL clubs would have come in for him over the last three years. They didn't.

And let's give Baldock a fair chance. Put him on the pitch with Darren Bent please.

Only when we're chasing a game. Otherwise, Bent needs to be flanked by two out of Bennett, KLL, Colunga and Teixiera, with maybe even one of these (especially Tex and Colunga) playing the advanced midfield, or deep-lying forward, role.

Good move for everyone.

Love him very much but he never got used in the role that he was successful with at Posh and then he got an bad injury which cost him a season and I suspect has made him a little bit slower. Go to Posh and rediscover the nack of scoring and then who knows. With bent here he is not going to okay anyway so makes sense to allow him to get some games at Posh.

Pretty much this, Hoskins was a better player IMO if the bloke wasn't so bloody unlucky with injuries. I will have some fond memories of CMS but you can't help but think at the money we paid for him it was a poor signing, especially given our 'continental' game style and tactics(at the time and for most of his time here) he just was never the right fit so I'm not sure why Gus made such an effort to sign him.

Its hard to comprehend we paid more for him than Ulloa and we let Murray go then spunked all that cash on him.

I really hope he does well again at Peterborough and scores a hatful - we may be able to ask a higher price then! For me CMS will be remembered for the energy of his first season at The Amex and a miss away at Leicester that I still cannot believe he missed - over the bar from two yards out.

I've mentioned this a couple of times before on CMS threads but the guys that sat behind me in my old seat used to call him "Unlucky Craig" because of the number of times you'd hear someone in the crowd say "Unlucky, Craig".

Excellent trier who always gives his all, good club ambassador and a one time manic re-tweeter. Shame he's got the first touch of a clumsy giant on speed.

Brighton factually.....
I am genuinely upset that Craig has not fulfilled his potential with us, he is a great squad player when games seem lost he would constantly be the one running around trying to make things happen when others around him would moan and throw their arms in the air when passes were misplaced or tackled unfairly (Ulloa for instants). His all round game and link up play was superb, his professionalism on and off the pitch has been second to none, things have just not for some reason panned out for him here. I wish Craig all the best and will have nothing but fond memories of him, I hope he does come back stronger but I feel the dice has been rolled and he is basically in the shop window now.

Thanks again craig for goals like these....

I know this one is of him at Peterbrough, but they show what we thought we were getting and how we were all so excited, lets hope he can recover that legend status.

Whether you rate him or not, you can't decry those who say we have never played to his strengths. It's a cold hard fact! Whether playing to his strengths would have produced the £2.5m goal machine we all hoped for is a matter of opinion. But we have not played to his strengths! And judging by his character I would say that the one person most disappointed that his time with us has not been an unqualified success is the man himself, CMS.

If this deal happens, I hope he does well. Always gives 100% and I really don't see that Baldock is an improvement (I hope I'm very wrong). Good luck CMS (if it happens).

This - with knobs on. He plays well with a big man up top with him. His game is playing on the shoulder and fox in the box. Neither of these work well when you are up front on your own with two CD marking you. A big man not only creates knockdowns but drags defenders around. Our inside forwards cutting in does not do this. This makes the signing of Baldock all the more strange as he is the same.
