Just found out that reason he chose Brighton is he's on £22,500 a week.

Seaweed have lost the plot.

Benzhiyi knows this because he has a...

Media source.

(With a family link to a director at one of the clubs involved in the transfer.)

I know there's a fair bit of jealousy knocking about on the Palace BBS for various reasons, but they really are pushing the boat out to portray us as a bunch of idiotic spendthrifts throwing money about all over the shop.

If CMS is on anything like that kind of cash, I will eat my own face.

That is probably to show the difference that he is costing more than GM so to strengthen their case that we have made a mistake in signing him but having seen him yesterday linking with Hoskins I would think not.

If we can afford it - who cares? Just shows how ridiculous the notion that we 'couldn't' afford Glenn Murray is.

I would have thought that's fairly accurate as well. Goalscorers aren't cheap and if he picked us over Leciester you've got to think we're paying a fair wedge.

I very much doubt that, there's no way we'll be offering a player over 20k weekly.

I was told 20k pw by some bloke in my pool league. I laughed and said it would be no more than 10k...perhaps he was right???

Ben is a successful magazine editor. He will have contacts in the know.
He might be on that much, it seems very unlikely but no one could say he's definitely not.

Because no one knows except him and a couple of very high level people at the club what is in his contract.

Not even Ben The Succesful Magazine Editor.

Unless it's a magazine published by News International I guess.

Do you mean that he's never ever posted a wind up for a laugh on the BBS?
Bloom has paid for the stadium but stated the club has to pay for itself, so there is a wage cap.

That is £1.17million per year. I think not! they must be having a laugh!!

I would say that is between 7% to 10% of the budget and I cannot imagine Mr Bloom agreeing to this as he comes across as a very shrewed business man.

Could be true, unlikely though on balance.

Perhaps Craig could invest in a haircut with his new found fortune.:hilton:

Is that figure that hard to believe? Times have changed.

for championship? yes. i reckon it would be half that. the benchmark you should use for all wage speculation and claims is that Blackpool had a publically known policy of not paying more than 10k. so for instance, that means Brett Ormarod or DJ Campbell are on that. (probably with some apperance/goal bonuses)

I think the club is far to professional to let anyones wages "slip out" even to the likes of Knowledgable Ben the Magazine editor, especialy when reading all the comments from inside the club and Gu's disipline of no superstars we are a team, I expect wages is a very close gaurded secret and I agree they should be , I wouldnt post my wages on here would you? ?

f***ing hell... I seriously hope this is not accurate, because I cannot imagine whAt this will do for squad morale if one guy is on around triple our old wage cap, which most of the squad will be well below...

well i guess what there trying to say, its it pretty much smacks as a money move.

Which goes in the face of what Posh Chairman and Barry Fry have said unless of course others offered a lot more. Then again what does it matter if he is obviously it is within TB and Gus's budget for players but I forgot it has been hinted on other boards we will be in administration within 3 years if we dont get into the Premiership.
