I was wondering what the smooth jazz thing was at the start of our game up there. Although I must have heard it before the previous times I've been to St James' so I don't know why I hadn't noticed before.

Anyway, I don't (or didn't anyway) think anybody would argue with Blaydon Races being Newcastle's anthem. In any case, they do play it before the start of the game (I also actually noticed that this time, I'm starting to think my greater awareness of things around me might be down to my being sober this time). Even if, now that you mention it, that must be before the teams have actually come out.
