But everyone with a brain knows they don't REALLY want him out. I have only missed one match at Withdean since we started playing there, and I've never heard ONE person call for Knight or the board to go. The ONLY thing that can turn the fans against him is a failure to deliver Falmer. Unless that happens, you know, I know, and every sane person knows that there is nothing more than an online fraction claiming to be against him. It seems to me like there are a minority of posters on this board dead set against Knight, and by minority I mean a handful. They're doing a wonderful job of making it look like there is some sort of pressure building up on him, but in reality all they're doing is pressing "submit reply" a LOT.

Completely agree Badge!

It seems that people need to wake up and smell the coffee.

1. It is likely that there will be NO major investment in the Albion until the building work on the stadium is started and sponsors are announced. Bolton Wanderers are proof of this.

2. Whilst I am not over the moon about Hammond going, he could have stayed if he really wanted to...No one, if they are that good, can be "Forced" out of a football club...as I said in a previous post. Losing, IN MY OPINION, Revell is a far bigger loss than Hammond(who has not played well this season - any irony there?)

3. At the moment, the club is in hiatus. We are not yet advanced enough to start spending unrealistic amounts of cash(yes- i know Murray cost £300k, but that is still a good price for a striker who is proven to score goals in the league and is not alot compared to the current economics in football)

Shame about Currie as I am sure he would have supplied excellent service to Murray who is rumoured to be very good in the air.

Glad to see the club put out a statement to tidy things up. It won't be enough for some people whose paranoia towards the board knows no bounds but for everyone else a good sign of the clubs ambition and that the right sort of players were being approached.

If we can get a loan replacement in for Hammond will be looking good for the rest of the season

That is complete bollocks.

Any "backlash" would be entirely a result of misreporting by the Argus and the willingness of boneheaded anti-Albion elements who are rampaging around NSC at the moment peddling the deceit that Dick Knight lies to fans.

The Club is quite right to be putting the record straight.

LB you aint saying that the Argus might misreport are ya ..... hmmmm tad selective there might keep that for another discussion :D

If you knew just some of the things that DK continues to meddle in you would be outraged.

My challenge to you ... Give us ONE piece of concrete EVIDENCE that this allegation has a grain of truth in it.

Hammond was told that he would not kick another ball for the club if he didnt move.

I am really surprised that he fell for it to be honest. Should of called their bluff.

Wilkins would I am sure had the support of the Board ( Not Knight ) to overturn that decision after just one indifferent performance.

I can't believe the crap on here from the anti-DK brigade.

Question to all those who think DK is lying/crooked/cheat etc etc...

Why is Dick still here? As posted by many people on many threads, Brighton is a huge money pit for him. If he wanted to rob something then a 3rd tier slightly crap footie club with no ground wouldn't be the most attractive proposition. DK is a Brighton fan, he and many others including people who have posted on this thread have given blood, sweat and tears so that you lot can still have a poxy opinion on the Albion. Without them THERE WOULD BE NO ALBION.

It really is beyond insulting now, some of the stuff that certain absolute tosspots say about the board.

I think you can tell which side of the fence I'm on.

I think people would be surprised quite how qualified Daddylonglegs is to talk about these things.

They are a lot closer to it than I imagine anyone else who has posted on this thread is.

Well thats a crying shame that people so close to what is going on feel the need to hide under an alias on an internet chat forum to throw knives at a chariman in response to what they consider a poor transfer period - that is ONE SINGLE TRANSFER PERIOD. Having completely forgotten the past 10 years and what the club has been through. THeres a lot of clubs out there who are far worse off than us - I wish people would put their knives away and get some bloody perspective instead of making it personal.

Really f***ing pathetic and frankly is making NSC an embarrassment.

Good shout. A handfull of crackpots and/or morons are trying to make it look like there is some kind of bad feeling towards the board. There isn't. In the old days the first sign of discontent would be some shouting at the game and if it was really bad some sack the board chants. I hope I hear one of these imbaciles shout abuse at DK today, but really I know there's more chance of seeing the Beadles about live show on tv tonight.
I'm totally upbeat about the transfer dealings. We have one player who is exceptional at this level and that is Forster, the players that are left were all replaceable, in fact the whole team is replaceable, if our players were that good we'd be higher up the table. It's good that they are trying to improve the squad, it's not like the days of McGhee where he couldn't find a leftback for two years

If he/she is really so much closer to the club (and presumably then closer to DK) than the rest of us, I can only presume that they have made the same comments as they've made here to DKs face (or at least to the face of someone at the club), as opposed to just hiding behind an alias on an Internet forum?

Somehow, I doubt it.

Isn't that the case on most/all internet chat rooms?

Really f***ing pathetic and frankly is making NSC an embarrassment.

Really? To my mind, the (relatively) free speech that NSC permits serves to demonstrate how few anti-Knighters there are, and just how many pro-Knighters there are, and how strongly those people feel.

I'm not sure what, if anything, you are advocating but I'm not going to look to censor people just because there views are unpopular or extreme.

What a load of bollocks (the posts from Daddylonglegs and the other twats)

The club are not likely to come out and lie to the fans - Hammond and his agent are. It wouldn't surprise me if Hammond was offered a contract to become highest paid player at the club after all he was captain, scored a fair few goals and probably was one of the most important players in the team. But the club cannot afford to pay him more or probably what his agent wanted.
There could well of also have been a get out clause end of season, it doesn't say anywhere that it was for free does it?
