I find your remarks flippant and downright insulting. There are plenty of people in this country who would love to have 2 good working ears but you advocate having one of yours shot off.

Sorry, I didn't make myself very clear. I wish to be shot in the ear, with the gun pointing inwards, towards the loose, lumpy, custard-like substance I have washing around within my cranium that sometimes passes for a brain. Failing that, just shoot me in the face.

Thats different then , I withdraw my complaint.

Must you use such bad language? Its offensive and unnecessary.

I'm sorry - I apologise if I've offended anyone and hereby offer my resignation before Ofcom are called in to investigate.

Thats too little too late as far as I am concerned. You have had ample time to have offered an apology before all this escalated. I find the timing of this apology purile and futile.

Do you not realise there are procedures to go through man ! I can't just offer an apology without an investigation by line management first - you really have no idea do you ???

It's weird: I really, really like Russell Brand - I think he's a really great and intelligent broadcaster. But I think the thing with Andrew Sachs was, whilst still very funny to listen to, a bit - just a bit - out of order, and probably worthy of some kind of official condemnation.

However, I truly despise everything about that unfunny pube-headed penis-breathed front bottom Clarkson and wish a slow lingering death on him, his no doubt runty offspring and his family pet just to make sure - and yet I think his joke was quite funny and have indeed cracked jokes like it myself many times. Strange times.

Read the blog, good enough ?

Whose blog?

If you can grab a transcript, you will see the context of the show and realise that it was a very off the cuff glib remark and has been taken entirely out of context and out of tone.

You are Clarkson.

People forget that for every one Clarkson/Ross/Brand remark that is un-PC there are one hundred things that go the other way on the Beeb.

Example: My 2 year-old son watches Balamory, set on the island of Tobermory off the coast of Scotland. Despite the fact it's about as Caucasian as you can get 25% of the presenters and about 1/3rd of the children per episode are non-white.

You can complain online now innit? They should revert back to the days when you actually had to write a letter in, see how many complaints they get then.

What ever did happen to Points of View?

No, quite the opposite. It surely has to be old people with nothing better to do than complain. I can't believe anyone with things to do beyond; watch Countdown, feed the birds, and empty commode, would find the time to complain about this sort of thing.

I don't know, because I would never feel inclined to complain, but I would guess that most complaints are written or telephoned in. I say, make it only possible to complain via text message, and in text language only, and complaints will drop by MILES.

The bar has certainly been raised as regards outrage. From now on no complaint with less than a 1,000 signatories should be even considered for discussion.

Well he's up to 500 now. Only 300 Daily Mail (or whatever paper it was in) readers have so far been OUTRAGED sufficiently to complain. Give it time though... as we know, these things can be slow burners.

If email had been around in 1976 you wonder just how many complaints ITV would have got over the Bill Grundy / Sex Pistols interview - 1 million?

Clearly not by the people it was aimed at though. Clarkson didn't prank call anybody.
