How do you do it Holmes?

???

We've got fans as shareholders now!?! I'm struggling to see why you keep banging this drum on various threads. It'll mean **** all anyway.

Knight is just coming across as a very bitter man. What he did for the club should never be forgotten but the club have moved on. It seems as though Knight hasn't and based on his radio interview yesterday it all stems back to the fact that he didn't get to hand the reins over to TB at the first game at the Amex.

Knight as ever is desperate for the limelight, TB as ever doesn't want to know. In my eyes that makes TB the bigger man.

As I said yesterday Knight could have walked away from the club a hero in the eyes of everyone at the club. Now sadly he trying his damnedest to upset the apple cart all in the name of flogging a few books.

What a load of old shhitte! Honestly, some of the comments people are making on here are hilarious!

Dick TIGHT (HISS!) should of give all the money to Dean WILKINS (He may not be Father Christmas but he come come down my chimney whenever he wants, may have to clear some soot out of it first though) for the TRUAMA of sacking him when he took us to the highest finishing position of 2007/8 of ANY manger who manged us that season, and you CAN,T get bettered than that.

Congratulations on the most illiterate post of the whole thread.

It is ONE POUND for EACH share.

This I know for a fact, as it says so on the form in the back of the book.

I guess otherwise someone would just say, "Here is a quid, can I have a million shares please..."

I think you have to question the motive behind it all. Is it really about club ownership? Dick owns 1.54% of the shares (club). He has a voice, one in which is being increasingly unheard by the current board (one of whom -the owner has approx 90% of the shares).

Imagine if fans did buy all his shares. Fans groups would still own 1.54% of the shares but possibly would be even more irrelevant due to the voice being diluted by the number of fans. As a fan, a share is worthless -more novelty value. To Dick its cold hard cash - which incidently I dont begrudge him.

I dont think for one minutes that Tony will lose any sleep over that 1.54%.

To me, and I owe my continued support of the Albion to Dick, it all seems a bit of a sad way for Dick to go.

Not sure I agree - In any 'protest' about possible future actions by the board it is far more influential to have 10,000 shareholders objecting to the move than a shareholder doing so.

It didn't make much difference at Manchester United.

I feel I should ask, what actions are you expecting from TB?

There have been several posters in this thread, expressing a distrust of the current board and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I understand that some may dislike decisions that have been made, but disagreeing to distrusting is quite a jump.

I disagree, those 10,000 fans would object whether they are shareholders or not because they are fans. We've already proved that in 1997. The shareholding is an irrelevance both in terms of whether people would be motivated or not and also the impact of a 1% stake in a business.

And the question you didn't ask but should have...

Does the club support the idea of fans owning some shares so that no one individual owns the club?

I suppose it would if those fans offered the investment that the current majority shareholder did.

Distrust of the current board? - I don't distrust the current board any more than I do any other group of individuals - what I don't offer though is an unconditional trust in them either. That's not a judgement of any them on a personal basis, it can't be I don't know any of them at the level required to make a valid judgement.

What I don't believe is that the World stands still. Is it unknown for very rich individuals to lose everything or for personal tragedy in someone's life to change their outlook on life? In other words nobody knows what might happen in the next year let alone the next ten years!

I am not going to get involved in the debate as without DK AND TB then we would not have a club today.

What I would like to know exactly how much was invested by DK into the club and what has happened to this money? How much did TB invest when we were moving back to Withdean?

Also claiming success when buying players is a dangerous game. For every success there is a failure. Zamora hit his golden spell of football when playing for us, so guess we got lucky!

All I can say that the job of a PR person is to get people talking about a product - hence I think that from a potential sales point of view then what DK has done will be seen as a success. On the other hand charging £8 for a book launch IMHO is just greedy! Hence I will not be going to any of the launch events but yes I will be buying the book.

In answer to the first bit, DK said on the radio yesterday he had lost more than £2m on the Albion.

From what I recall he said he'd invested £2m. A sum of £400k coming back out was banded about.

He's not making any money from the £8 admission.

You know that for a fact? I find it very hard to believe. But I've no problem him doing so. It's the persons choice if they want to pay it or not.

What is absolutely disgraceful is that he has a bar named after him yet he's not allowed to use it on the one occasion where it would be incredibly useful for him.

Hardly surprising is it for the same reason the club aren't stocking it (yet).
