Good luck to him. I'm pleased that an ex-Albion player has gone so far.

Only Gareth Barry would come close these days, but he wasn't even a first team player.

Whether some fans like it or not, on tonight's evidence, CKR is a better player than anything we've got in our current squad or are likely to have in the foreseeable future. Good luck to Colin at the Euros. If only McGhee had handled him better.
:drink:

Most talented players have an attitude problem. It's just a shame that some managers have one to match.

Why do people blame McGhee? It wasn't about McGhee 'not handling' him. CKR has an attitude problem dispite his talent not just becase of it! He would behave the same way if he was playing for Halifax - it's the person he is.

How ridiculous to say most talented players have an attitude problem?? That's an absolute cop out.

If Wilkins was manager then the story would be very different, I'm sure the majority of you lot would then see CKR for what he was/is. The fact we had McGhee in charge at the time, just gives the blinkered people on here another chance to have a pop at him. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I'm sure you McGhee moaners were there at the Millenium stadium when he took us up in his first season and again at Ipswitch when we stayed up (seconds thoughts, I bet a lot of you weren't there for the second one 'unfortnately weren't able to make it today').

Do you mean when he was wondering why the manager wasn't picking the team's top scorer, and sometimes not even putting them on the bench either, despite being fully fit?

Or would that be anything to do with McGhee's comments every week about not having a forward / striker at the club? even after one of our forwards scored?

Maybe McGhees lack of playing a settled team, constantly playing with players out of position frustrated players, led to poor performances and this meant we didn't get the best out of those we had here.

No wonder why he didn't feel valued by the manager, and looked to move on, which has worked out very well for him, and good luck to him.

It's absolutely true. You lot would have a killer up front if they got you goals. I think McGhee has the views that I adopt with people, he wants respect from players and he certainly doesn't want attitude, if these aren't complied with - they're not playing. End of.

And to answer the points in bold, he referred to Brighton as merely 'a stepping stone' and also said the same about Fenerbahce. Adding, he was looking forward to playing in the Champions League because it would put him in the shop window, so this is a respectful player that values the club he's at. He'll contine to 'look to move on' because he thinks he is better than any club he is at.

Why don't you people realise it was partially down to McGhee and the rest because CKR is a twat.

he started 25 games and scored 6 goals... yes he plays for a champions league team but he was not good for us.

This is rubbish he pissed off every manager he worked for the only reason he is proberly still at fenerbache is that he cant speak turkish and they have not had to listen to him rable on about how good he is...

The neagtive comments about mcghee i completely disagree with to be honest as he got us promoted with an average side and then gambled on a centre half to play upfront which you can contemplate saved us.

He seems to be doing well in scotland ...
